I have a 94 Regency with the 300 Cummins pusher and a 7kw front mounted diesel generator. The recommended tire pressures are 100lbs front and 95lbs for the rears on my 22.5 inch tires. I ran these pressures on a trip this past summer and noticed a lot of feedback in the steering wheel. I'm wondering if lowering the front tire pressures would help and what pressures would be recommended. From past experience with autos, most vehicle manafacturers recommend the max air pressures from the tire makers --- just to be on the safe side. I usually run my car pressures a few lbs less for a better ride and have no problems. But I have no experience with truck applications and would love some feedback. Thanks for any recommendations. Car manufacturers rarely recommend the max tire pressure on their vehicles, and running more or less can affect wear and handling. If it were I, I'd not run less than the builder's plate says. However, if you've gotten a recent weight on the coach, you could go to the tire manufacturer's website and adjust pressures based on actual weight on each axle. A SteerSafe system may help minimize feedback. This is one of my most contentious subjects, either because I have too many friends or they just don't know what they're talking about. I'm not in the same class but here are my numbers. Tire 8x19.5 Wheel 6x19.5. Bridgestone max 110 lb. 3305 Dual 3675 Single. Manufacturer Recommends; 65 lb. all around. My coach 5000 front 9840 rear. The problem is I hear I'm supposed to run the max, and I also hear I'm supposed to run th manu recommendations. BIG difference!! I run 80 in the tires and 65 in the airbags and it makes a comfortable ride. This is a Chevy 454 P30 28 footer. 79 Barth Classic | |||

What works for one coach will not work for another. If you run at the max it will feel like you're driving on marbles! Each coach/vehicle mfg. and different tire manufactures will run different psi's based on the tire design. The easiest way is to follow the tire mfg. recommendation for the weight that you're running on the axle and compare it to the mfg. of the vehicle. Never go below the psi listed on the vehicle.
