This is actually a Bendix R-14 Horizontal Relay Valve - Service Relay Application Valve. The top left airline gets a signal from the brake pedal - the lower right hose is the air feed to the valve, whatever you see on the airguage is what is in this line on the right. Once the signal line senses air psi - it opens up a valve and sends a variable amount of air psi from the right line to the middle line to apply the rotochamber. Signal: Upper Left - Small Red Line Tank Psi: Right Side - Large Black Hose Application PSI: Lower Middle - Large Red Line ˙ʎ˙u ןןıq- „ǝןƃuɐ ʇuǝɹǝɟɟıp ɐ ɯoɹɟ pןɹoʍ ǝɥʇ ʇɐ ʞooן ɐ ƃuıʞɐʇ sı ǝɟıן oʇ ʇǝɹɔǝs ǝɥʇ„

| Thank you for the clarification..... I was truly hoping that valve was what had failed, but Murphy got me again....The front brakes were dragging very hard (nearly locked) so when I removed the red line it should of at least hissed, nuthing... Then when I opened the drivers side bleeder (with the red line still dissconnected) the passenger side tire (which was off the ground and locked) spun freely....I surely hope I have corrected the problem, I'll know after it is bled... Could that have caused the pedal to require extra pressure? It has always seemed that the pedal was hard to push/hold, my leg would get tired at a stop light... | Yes... And that is where I installed the $1.49 plastic plug so I could drive it home on the rears... Patch1st 35' Regency 1985 MCC Chassis 8.2 Detroit Diesel "Partly Cloudy" |

| I have had these airvalve retain air on release. Not that it would leak, but after application, not all of the air psi vents back through the valve and this still applies the brake chamber. Now, if you tell me you took this airline off and it was still applied, then yes, it is the rotochamber/master cylinder assy. If it does it again, remove the other pipe plug to the left of it. Install an air psi gauge and read the air psi after application and release to see if the air is fully venting. Also, these valves could work fine at full application and release, but if you slightly apply the brakes, like if you were slowing down, then the valve might not vent out the air because it doesn't get the rush to force it back off of its seat. ˙ʎ˙u ןןıq- „ǝןƃuɐ ʇuǝɹǝɟɟıp ɐ ɯoɹɟ pןɹoʍ ǝɥʇ ʇɐ ʞooן ɐ ƃuıʞɐʇ sı ǝɟıן oʇ ʇǝɹɔǝs ǝɥʇ„
