BTW: Don't ask for the old inverter... I've got it. Thank you Ed. It arrived today and was well packaged. I installed it and it is fully functional.

Ed, that is one heck of a job you did. Thank you for sharing with us. The way I did it, using your old inverter, the inverter is plugged into 2 extension cords that is then hardwired into the manual "Generator Selector Switch" on the GEN 1 side. Just like a male to male plug... I'm relatively sure this is not to code. I read every part of your writeup and was worried that I would inadvertently try the perpetual motion machine scenario too. The way I envision, I will have 7 breakers off while using the inverter. During the summer months, 3 of those breakers are already in the off position to begin with. Hopefully my attention to detail, the color coding and the fact that I have a manual 50A switch will keep me from having the same type of issue you had. Only time will tell... Again Ed, thank you.
