Anyone have a recommendation for a roofing paint? My roof is pretty ugly and I want to repaint it next spring.

Don't you mean, Reseal It?

These are typically redone as a roof recoat or sealer and it is by roller or paint brush.

In my roof post on page 3 there is a pic with the sealer I used. Lanco seal acrylic elastomeric. I liked how it went on and how it appears to seal everything, but time will tell. It was 60 bucks for 5 gallons and I used about 2 for 2 coats.

From my experience with Vintage trailers... this stuff DOES NOT SEAL. If anything it's worse for the coach as water WILL get under it no matter how good of a job you do to prep. This will allow water to pool between the coating and the metal on your roof and it will eventually find it's way into your coach. Then trying to track down the leak is 100 times more difficult as it could be coming from the front and traveling to the rear before it appears on your ceiling.

Just my opinion, take it or leave it... but these coatings are for reflecting sunlight only, to keep the coach cool, NOT to seal it. You need to make sure all seams are sealed and not leaking before you put anything like this on, if at all.

I just don't want people to think this will help seal their roof, that is not what these products are for, just FYI.

Hhmmmm ... I've been thinking about resealing (recoating) the roof of our Barth for a couple of years now.
Thing of it is; it's the original 21 year old granular roof coating and it doesn't leak anywhere. And we've been thru some torrential downpours! Of course, I've resealed around numerous vents, the new clearance lights and when I replaced the tv antenna but the rest of it is untouched and looks fine at the seams.
The one thing I don't like is the chalky residue that appears where ever water runs off after a rain.
Maybe I should give it a good cleaning and leave well enough alone?
Anybody got some thoughts on this?

I think the point Mike was trying to make is don't paint this on expecting it to fix existing leaks. Instead, track them down and fix them prior to a re-coat. If your roof is not leaking Don, the job Danny did is perfect to add further protection and stop the chalking.

Exactly. This stuff is way too thin to expect it to be a seal of any kind. I used copious amounts of Lap Seal around any possible problem areas, making sure no traps were left for water, then "painted" the whole roof twice with the Lanco. If the Lanco runs like the old coating I'll be dissappointed. The only flaw I found after the coating was the rivits running down the front over the windshield, which were hollow, so they could do nothing other than leak in a hard downpour. A little Dycor should take care of that.
In any case, the structural part of the roof is much superior to any stick and staple rubber top, so if I don't get it perfect this time, I still have something to work with.

after replacing wall structure on a Stick and Staple (don't forget the twisty nails too, the devil himself made those!) trailer, I thank GOD all I have to do is replace the insulation and ceiling panels on the Barth.

Oh, I just re-read my last post... if you are already coated, and just reapplying a re-coat... and you don't have leaks, you are good... Like Corey said, don't expect this to fix your leaks.

I saw somewhere else where someone completely stripped their roof. I didn't have that in me. This is my story with pictures.

Good luck!!
