Barthmobile has been as much a part of my daily life as my Barth itself, maybe more so. Like many Barth owners, I enjoy working on it, discussing it, complaining and bragging about it. Since I first discovered this site, I sought advice here and tried to give a little back - I bought my Barth here too! Some may remember I joined BM and bought my coach in a matter of a few weeks, when I see what I want and the deal is right----just do it!

So it's happened again! My Barth is gone....my new coach is sitting in its place with 9 more feet, 175 more HP, and it is steel instead of aluminum.

I'll be honest, I don't miss my Barth simply due to the new one capturing my heart. What I would miss though is all the friends I've met on BM, at gatherings, and visits to homes---as the ad says; it's PRICELESS.

Sooooooo, I lobbied Bill to create this little window to discuss other high end brands that have been abandoned by the manufacturer, but are still loved. I admit I tried to see if my new coach had a similar web group, but I quickly realized what we all already know, this site is unique and precious!

My hope is that maybe I can gather a few more MAHEMs and we can be a contributing asset to the group. At the very least, I feel welcome here and will be sticking around. I hope that's OK with the band.

If you've read this far, you probably want to know what we bought. I thought about surprising everyone at the Hillsborough gathering, but realized this group should get first dibs on my old one. So here are a few pics to introduce the new love of my life.

OMG Corey, what an incredibly beautiful machine!!.....If I didn't know better, I'd think it came off the Fort Valley assembly line yesterday! I am soooooooo envious!

If your local electric utility goes down, I'd suggest they plug into that battery bank and be back up and running in no time Big Grin

Thanks for all the compliments, we are very excited fer shur!

We traded with a Ma & Pa used RV store in Corbin, KY - Day's RV. I assume they will resell the Barth.

I didn't want to own two big rigs, so trading was preferred. Day's gave me a deal I couldn't refuse.

Since prices are always a big discussion here, I don't mind giving the particulars.

I spotted the Wanderlodge on EBay with a $160,000 Buy It Now. I went to the dealer's website and could see it was a $165,000 asking price. Researched on-line and found a 2000 Wanderlodge with low mileage had asking prices anywhere from $150,000 to $240,000, slides were more. Called the dealer and gave the details on my Barth, they came back with an initial offer of $60,000 for my Barth, we settled at $75,000 for a difference of $85,000. A whole lotta money for a three year newer machine, but when you see the Wanderlodge I think you will understand.

Now we need to start using the new one - the Moonbeam Express (our mini Aussie is named Moonbeam)

And with a 15KW diesel generator with 260 gals of diesel, I can light up my neighborhood through the next hurricane. It feels so good to say hurricane rather than ice storm too ROTFLMAO

As Red Green would say, "Remember folks, I'm pullin for ya. We're all in this together"

a Newell and a Wanderlodge are the seedlings for something much bigger.

The whole rig can be raised and lowered to go over or under things, think that might help Wink

This one may suit you better, but watch out for low bridges, like less than 25 feet!

Game on man! Name the time and place. Would you prefer I bring the GS1200 or the M3??? cheers

Oh, you mean a coach-off. Damn! Thought I had you for once ROTFLMAO

You might be surprised at the drag race though, 500HP and 1450lbs of torque. Maybe I could fill the interior with helium.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you down at Hillsborough. Feel free to swing by Spring Hill anytime. Will have a puppy socialization day.
