As promised, Bills coach is the first in line on the outside of Pocono. Got a good shot of it before the rains came when the cars were doing warmup laps.

yep Danny... that was me. If anyone can find a video link to the earlier start of the race, forward it to me so I can capture the image.

Sorry it's taken so long to update this.

Here is the picture of where we parked. Site #1 on turn 2. In a few weeks, I'll be 12 sites down from here watching the races again.

This time around Pocono has the Truck Races, ARCA and Sprint Cup. It will be a full weekend.

Here is a quick Pano that I built.

We were about 20' from the track. You had to wear headsets or you wouldn't have hearing later on. The speakers on the fence are useless.

Don't forget to look for Bills coach again today at Pocono. He'll be to the left of where he was last time, I'm guessing near the tunnel entrance.

I was the 13th rv from the end. My awning was out. Yes, it is very tight up there.

Here is where I was parked.

Here is a quick slideshow I put together of 2 wrecks. Camera was clicking away to get these shots.

These are shrunk really small for you, but I've got these images as large as 3088x2056

Here is the view of The Big Wreck. Not a very good view for me.

I had the right coach, it just didn't look like that many before you. I've always been a Mark Martin fan, but often thought he was too nice.

I took a bunch of photos for some friends, sadly no one asked for Mark. Here's the best image I could find.

About half of the coaches are backed in so they could share awning space. So, some are pulled away from the track, just out of view from this angle.

Bill what did it cost to park there? I did one down in Atlanta, way outside and it was $300 and no hook ups and about 15 x 30 space. Didn't get to go because of death in family. I checked on track side parking in Atlanta this spring and it was $8,000 for the 2 races and full hook up at the track side. Could not afford that.

The June race cost me $450 and I got two trackside passes. Plus also paid $20 shipping = $470

The August race was $475 and I had to purchase one $50 trackside pass. No shipping charges = $525

Normal price is $500 plus $50 per trackside pass.

Both times I got the cheaper price on ebay as I did not have the clout to get these this year from the track.

Next year might be a different story as I met several people who took my phone number and offered to help me get their trackside passes next year.

June's Pocono Race ~ August Pocono Race

The overhead map below shows where I parked.

This section, before the road, can accommodate 26 coaches. I was in site 13 for the August race, so I'm halfway down.

They are 15' by the length of the coach and your support vehicle. All trackside RV passes come with a free support vehicle pass.

Here are all of the available sites 1-68

I wonder how much a track day costs. That track looks pretty nifty from the air.

Holy Cow!.......I never paid that much to race.

The way I look at it...

I get to spend 4 days away from the biz. I get to hang out with people who like the NASCAR Scene. I've made many of friends at the tracks and look forward to seeing them each year. I can watch racing or I can drink a beer... I usually get some much needed sleep.

I have helped many people fix their coaches for nothing more than a beer. I don't have to worry about the daily grind of having to charge someone for my knowledge.

Simply put, I relax a little. I don't think you've ever caught me posting while I'm at the track... have you? Wink

The main event is between $75 for stadium up to $500 for a catered and air conditioned booth.

They do road courses, bike races and short track racing on some of the other courses inside the main track. If you look closely at a google map view you can see the other pit stops along the other smaller road courses.

Don't overlook the smaller events for a bargain.

I spent the weekend a few weeks ago at Stafford Springs raceway for the New England LeMons race. 65 cars, lots of great people, full access to pits/grandstand all for $40.
