I just ran across a web site that has info on dump stations all over the US. It's www.rvdumps.com and after looking at it, appears to be a good resource tool. I had to go to a KOA campground recently to use their dump facilities, and they charged me $15. Many of the dump stations listed on this web site are free and there's also a relatively inexpensive book you can buy to keep in your Barth

I modified the link so it would work

Lots of KOA's charge $20. A macerator is under $100(when on sale at West Marine), and you dump at your own convenience at home.

Do the math.

If I have to, on a long stay at a CG with no dump station, I will pump into a toilet. I have seen some, even camp hosts, pump their gray water to water shrubs etc.

Of course, nothing beats a convenient, free dump station. We only use dump stations when they are free, convenient, and with no line.

Hey Dave
Did I do something wrong that caused you to have to correct the reference to the dump station website? I'm not very computer literate but am trying to get better.

FYI, When returning from Talledaga we stop at any one of several Georgia rest areas on I-75. The dump stations are always located near the exit and out of regular traffic. Forget Florida rest areas, at least as far as I've seen.
As far as the link, let me see if I have finally gotten this right. Right click on the address, then click on SAVE ALL, then right click again and click on PASTE. Then copy to your post. Right Dave?

Hey Bill, I've been reading your post's about the macerator and been wondering if you use it when you get home from a trip in the desert or ? Do you run a garden hose into your house (ew) or do you use a cleanout or? If it could save me 30 minutes from driving out of my way to dump I think I'll pick one up...

We don't attend Casinos but we do use their dumps and have never found one to charge. Here in Minneapolis Mystic Lakes has Dump, Cheap Gas and Diesel and even an RV Wash. And they thank you for using the stuff..

At my own house, I run a hose to a cleanout. Sometimes, when visiting, I am invited to run the hose to their toilet, but we always try to break the cleanout free first. If you run the hose right down the toilet it is a little better, but it is never good. And always carry a cap to close the hose end so there are no dribbles as the hose is carried in or out.

My next abode is going to have a cleanout that will accept a 3 inch stinky slinky, as it is still the quickest and best if it is handy and there is no line. Last time was under two or three minutes. If I were not planning on moving, I would have one here. Of course, you never tell your RV friends you have one.

Dave, the casinos out here have remarkably good food at a reasonable price. We will go in and spend a little money just so we feel better about using their free services.

Thank you, Dale, for pointing out my poor choice of words. I am a little handicapped with the language and have a limited vocabulary. But I didn't call anybody anything. It never even occurred to me that someone could misconstrue that I was even implying anything.

Now bill h. I doubt anyone is going to believe you are handicapped with the language and your vocabulary. One just needs to read a couple of your posts to know that just ISN'T the case. "implying anything"? I will have to THINK about that one. Kind of sounds like, "IT DEPENDS ON WHAT ONES DEFINITION OF IS, IS"

Gee, I thought I could get Dave to fire you. Oh well, to be truthful we NEED YOU....

Many states offer dump stations at thier rest area's, I wish Mi and Oh did.
Even when we buy a full hook, I rarely hook up the pipe, and if I do, I will leave the gray water build, so as I can use it to flush the hose.
If we do full hook I just use it as my personal dump station, when we are done.
I wish more poeple understood the concept of using the gray water to flush the hose as many people waste time spraying the hose, when, if used correctly, the hose has soap suds when it is secured.
This wastes time at public dump sites

Don't know how many other Barths are like mine, but our 28' Regal has but one waste tank for both gray and black water. It also has a neat little hose fitting that you hook up to shore water that flushes out the holding tank each time.

I subscribe to the Gypsy Journal. They always have a listing of RV dump sites. They also publish a book of RV dump sites. The cost is $7.50. Their web address is www.gypsyjournal.net You can order any of their publications from the web site.
