I received 9 emails and phone calls from Florida Barth Residents who offered their Barths and whatever they had to other Barth owners who might have lost their homes in the storm. To date, I have not received any calls for help but I am guessing they have not heard of the offer of help because their are a bunch of Barth owners with addresses in the epecenter. And, the addresses that I have are only half of all of the Barthmobile.com members. I don't have the addresses of most of the people who have registered and I don't have any way of searching on profiles. I would like to share with you the following email I received from Darlene Madderom from St. Petersberg, NOTE SENT TO GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO LOVE AND/OR HAVE BARTHS I DECIDED SINCE I COULD NOT SAVE MY HOME IN ST.PETE I COULD SAVE MY BARTH. I WORKED THURSDAY NIGHT AT MY HOSPITAL AND LEFT FRIDAY ABOUT 8 AM TO GO EAST AND SOUTH. THE TRAVIC THU TAMPA WAS REALY BAD. I WENT HY 60 PLANING TO GO SOUTH ON US 27 AT HAINE CITY. MOVING SOUTH ON 27 I DROVE RIGHT INTO THE HEAVY WEATHER WITH A TORANDO CROSSING IN FRONT OF ME. THE RADIO WAS VERY HARD TO LISTEN TO, SO i DID NOT KNOW THAT I WAS DRIVING INTO THE WORST. AT S.R. 70 I TURNED EAST AFTER THINKING I MIGHT GO TO ARCADIA(HAD STAYED THERE BEFORE). THE WINDS WERE REALY BAD, TWO R.V.'S TIPPED OVER AT THE CAMPGROUND . FINALLY FELL ASLEEP TO WAKE SAT. MORNING TO FIND OUT THE STORM HAD HIT ORLANDO WHERE I HAD SENT MY KIDS WITH FAMILY! WITH POWER LINES DOWN AND NO STOP LIGHTS WORKING IT TOOK 8 HOURS TO DRIVE BACK TO ST.PETE. ALL WESTWARD ROADS WERE CLOSED AND I4 WAS PACKED. A FRIEND CALLED FROM PHILLY AND ACCUSED ME OF PRAYING FOR A STORM JUST SO i COULD DRIVE MY BARTH. ANOTHER FRIEND SAID IF THE TORNADO WOULD HAVE GOTTEN ME THEY COULD HAVE PUT ON MY TOMB STONE "DIED DOING WHAT SHE LOVED....DRIVING HER BARTH". THE KIDS AND I ARE FINE. WE ALL WILL NEVER FORGET OUR EVACUATION INTO THE STORM. Barth owners are great folk aren't they? ------------------

This story is being repeated over and over, the forcasters telling us where we should go, only to find that we were better off where we started. My dear old aunt Bonnie, pushing 80, looked at the TV Wednesday and caught a plane to Michigan. She went through Donna in 60 and said it ain't happenin again. She lives in Port Charlotte, which was not supposed to get it too bad, but mother nature had other ideas. From now on, I'm listening to Aunt Bonnie, not the multi-million dollar forcasters who missed it by about a hundred miles. Thanks to God for sparing us by a mere 20 miles, and to all who have helped those in need. ------------------ Dan & Suzy Z '81 Euro 28

There IS a call out to help at the Escapees co-op park in Wachula, FL. They need generators, and people willing to help clean up. An end-loader is coming from TX. Some trailers over on their sides. No electric etc. Some Ham Radio communications would help too. If you are interested in helping, call headquarters at 888-757-2582

It's so hard to know what to do right now. My Barth is serving as accomodations for friends, and we feel fortunate to be able to help. ------------------ Dan & Suzy Z '81 Euro 28
