The War Wagon name, now painted on the top of the driver and passenger doors, reportedly came from Wayne’s youngest son, Ethan. During a ranch visit by Merv Griffin and a production crew, Ethan referred to the Travelall as the “War Wagon,” possibly in reference to a movie that Wayne was filming at the time.
