Well the little Barth was the engine that could, small but mighty. The little class C is a joy to drive, handles and rides, well very little movement by truck bow waves etc. Not bothered much by side winds. I left Steamboat about 6:00 Tuesday evening and promptly went up rabbit ears pass elevation 9200 ft. I have a 5 spd manual and it went up in 3rd gear without an issue and no signs of over heating. Went to Laramie Wyoming. Yesterday drove rest of the way here. In spite of a lot of hours not wiped out, and it was fun. Now no 12 volt in coach so phone went dead, carb adjustment a little off, did not idle well, and exhaust was NOISY. But not a problem, great fun, looking forward to reclaiming some of it's faded glory Looks like about 11 mpg or so. No speedo or odometer, used map for mileage. I downloaded an app for speed and distance and it works great, just runs down the phone battery in about an hour or so. Going to have to get that into my control panel some how. The speedo is electrical, and the transmission is mechanical so may just change to a gps system and be done with it. Guys in Hayden did a superb job getting me ready for the trip, the bad idle showed up after it left the shop. Great guys and very thorough. Chuckd Barth Class C | |||
