Hopefully I did the pics on this correctly. I have 2 chrome brackets, one above the other, on our barth. They are just in front of the mirror, and are on both the drivers side and the passenger side. The top bracket has an open tube kind of hole, and the bottom bracket has a bottom in the hole. kinda looks like a bracket for maybe a really tall flagpole? Don't get what they are for and why they would be on both sides of Barth. Any ideas??

Perhaps one drops a tube in the stanchions for a steady handhold while standing on the bumper and cleaning the windshield or putting up a windshield cover. A previous coach had handles for a similar function. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

The coach does have handles on the front, and steps on the bumper for cleaning the winshield, and I see no signs, like snaps or ties, that says it had a winshield cover in the past.

They sure sound like a flag holder, look like one, so I guess they must be. Poles would have had to be at least 10 foot tall to get above the roof. I had heard from the PO, who owned the coach for 15plus years and has now passed away, that the original owner was a race fan and that is why it has the diamond plate roof, as he would sit up there. perhaps he put flags in them for his favorite driver? Oh, if the things we own could talk.

And there they are! I've been a boater most of my life and don't remember running into those. Interesting. Some sort of hand hold could have been a possibility after all. I will have to find me a piece of tubing and see.

These are common on sea going sail and power boats to support horizontal or vertical stainless steel rails. The bottom on is the termination point and the top one would be in the middle of the rail. If it were a hand hold there should be another closed end one somewhere higher up. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny

There is only the two on each side. i suspect that if they were used as a hand hold, they made them removable and only used two brackets, probably because of wind noise. Found a 1 inch piece of stainless in my stuff, but the brackets are 7/8. I will keep looking, and test the idea.
