I have a friend with a 35' SOB with the Cummins 8.3L, and he gets around 8 mpg. Another with a 40' Beaver, Cat C11, gets 6.5-7.0 mpg.

I'm surprised your credit union is reluctant - I financed my '94 Breakaway with Navy Federal a couple of years ago, and it was no problem, even though I was all but fully retired at the time.

My MCI bus with an 8v71 Detroit engine has gotten anywhere from 5.7 to 8.1 miles per gallon. I usually am getting 6.9 to 7.2 on average.Depends on what kind of road and terrain you are driving on and how you are driving it.

That was a major consideration in our purchase.

In addition, many state and national parks that take larger coaches have the longer spaces in less desirable locations and much closer together. It seems that the spaces that were first laid out when the park was developed years ago are nicer, better located, and farther apart.
