howdy. new on here, actually signed up long ago. I have a chance to buy a mcc, I'm wondering if anybody has manuals available. I am familiar with the coaches as I owned 2 fmc's over the years. there somewhat familiar but different in allot of ways thanks for any help steve | |||

MCC was my introduction to this site and I avoided the purchase when there was support for that platform. These coaches are now in the realm of machine shop fanatics. Great rides but insufficient support. | |||

There is a lot of info on here ...do a search The MCC was an upgrade of the FMC.... Just be careful of belts and hoses and don not get them overheated _________________________ The 82 MCC {by Barth} is not an rv-- it is a Motor Coach!! | ||||

I would be vey careful when considering an MCC coach. As much as I have been around the site and enjoy the Barth coaches and people, I would not recommend the MCC versions. These were sold in the early 80's as Barth made the transition from gasoline only coaches to diesel pusher types. The coach bodies themselves were the typical high quality aluminum design but the chassis and driveline were derived from MCC. They are truly the orphans among the many other Barths. The drivelines have been notoriously unreliable, starting with the 8.2 GM V8 diesel. Due to poor block/head design, they were prone to overheating and complete failure. They were discontinued around 1990. No parts or service have been available for a long time. Meanwhile, the MCC chassis was known for its excellent ride, but sadly, the suspension components were prone to wear and are not available anywhere. Some leftover parts existed but were used up long ago. So, the MCC and early Regencies (82-86 or so) are the only Barth coaches I would avoid. They are nearly impossible to keep in service. If you are considering towing them to a location and using them parked they would be a good choice, since the coaches were all well made. I am not aware of any current sources for support for these coaches. Steve nailed it, nothing like an MCC for a lake or hunting cabin! That's really what I was looking for as an option while on corporate tdy in Ohio but the Barth was still a viable mobile option at the time so priced above value as a operational motorhome. Again,had it not been for Dave, the originator of this site and also his reference,the Chicago fixer of MCC axles I might now be offering a good deal on my low mileage MCC with an 8.2 diesel, some towing required. Hello like anything else, anything can be fixed, changed, updated, I wasn't looking for a reason or opinion why I should or shouldn't buy this mcc. they may have downfalls but nothing that can't be corrected.... but was hoping to find somebody that may have manuals for it. thanks steve | ||||
