From about 1987 to 1998 you can find 5.9 with Allison tranny. Later ones with 5 and 6 speeds. Breakaway models are going to be the most common.

Welcome to the Forums! Most diesel pushers (Cummins or Cat) have Allisons. Older gassers have the Ford C6 or GM TH400 or 4L80E. There are a few front engine diesels with Allisons.

FrEDs (Front Engine Diesels) are rare, although Bluebird made them for many years. Almost all diesels are "pushers", meaning the engine is in the rear.

Dave,
Some of the later (Monarch) models of Barth had Spartan chassis with 8.3 cummins in 250 or 300 Hp and the MD3060 Allison 6 speed (2 overdrive) transmission. This is a great combo.
We love ours. Just does what it's supposed to do. No muss no fuss.

From the late 70's until the final production---no problem at all. Windshields are the same as used in the GM Astro trucks. Readily available and inexpensive. The narrow windshields used in the early 70's are IMPOSSIBLE to find.

I just had my driver's side windshield replaced (PPG DW731) - took the tech about 20 minutes.
