Heading out this week to pick up our new addition in TX. Looking for a Good Sam campground in the panhandle to stay on the way back. It needs to be able to accommendate a 40' with ease. Never having driven one so big before. A pull thru would be great. Anyone have ideas???

A quick search will find you many places to stop but as i understood your new coach ad right it is set up to boondock so anyplace you can find to pull over will suffice if that trips your trigger. I, along with many others still lust after your coach. ENJOY!

I happen to prefer State parks to Good Sam or KOA's. Not sure about Luisiana or Texas, but I can vouch for Alabama and Florida being among the best. A quick check to their websites will confirm if they can handle a 40, but I'm thinking most can. I highly recomend Suwanee River State park, off 10 about 20 miles before you hit 75 south. Allow at least a few hours to hike the trails and be enthralled by the history and the natural beauty of this park. If they happen to have a size limit under your new baby, LIE! The sites are large and the rangers are great. I know Alabama has some seaside state parks on your route. Check them out. We all wish you the best and from past posts we know Glen's wife will assure you that any fears regarding size will quickly disappear once you are on the road.

Gulf Shores State Park in Alabama. If you are coming from the western half of Texas try State Parks in the Texas Hill Country, this is a great part of Texas and seems like northern Wisconsin to me with hills and rivers and woodlands.

Looks like the weather here in FL is not going to allow us to pick up the barth this weekend after all. Prior to purchasing the barth in TX, we had 2 weeks vacation scheduled in Utah during the Labor day holiday. The new plans are to shorten our stay in Utah by a couple days and rent a car, drive down to TX, pick up the barth and continue on to Fl. I sure hope she makes her first voyage without a glitch. Wish us well!!

Good move! Let this b#tch get around us and out of the way before you even think about picking up your new baby. So far so good as far as we're concerned on the left coast, but let's hope nothing unexpected happens. Just windy and partly cloudy at 3:30 friday.

Thank goodness. It has beautiful here, nice and breezy and cooler. I think we've had maybe two rain bands come thru.

The 5 am posts show Katrina to be moving away from Fla. but turning into a real monster. Wherever she goes looks real bad.
