So far, so good. The fire is heading NE, and should miss us. If there is a wind from the West, which is neither common nor long-lasting here, it will get us. We are getting the Barth ready to move out if it comes. Cataloging what we can take with us. It seems to be traveling about a half mile a day, so far, but even if it doubles its speed, we have a few days to decide. I am geared to stay and fight a fire from the East, but a fire from the West will block any escape, so it will be a real judgement call. I am in the process of running a 1 inch pipe from the wellhead to the house, to cut down the line losses. Gotta go out and make sure the cranky Champion generator feels like running, in case the grid goes down.

I have a contact at one of the fire departments there who is giving me good information.

One of the fireman killed was from up the road a mile or so.
