RustyWhich Barth to buy??
No matter which Barth you choose, because of its underlying structure, it won't fall apart faster than you can fix it.

Moonbeam-ExpressJust a quick word on the lack of slides from someone who has owned both. I've also owned Class Cs, a fifth wheel, several pop-ups, a MCI, a Barth and now a Blue Bird Wanderlodge. I searched for months to find a Wanderlodge without a slide. Most are equipped with at least one and up to three.
My slide logic is:
1) all you're going to increase is you hallway space, it's mostly an illusion "Get Over It!"
2) You end up giving up space and convenience under the coach in storage area
3)You add great complexity, weight, and additional maintenance items
4) Balance of coach can be affected
5) If the system fails in the extended position, your stuck
6) Potential wind noise and water/bug paths
7) Leveling becomes critical
8) Safety is affected by cutting giant holes in an otherwise good structure!
It is my belief that "slide mania" was created and perpetuated by the RV industry to instill a rationale to upgrade. Many of us remember when they first appeared and the RV industry raced to add slides. More, bigger, longer....
All this to add a few feet across the coach?? Why not just get a little longer coach and spare yourself the compromises?
So, there's my slide rant. All Barths are in the green column as they never put a slide in, all the better in my book.
I like your idea of a diesel pusher. Plenty in history that discusses those pros and cons.

Corey, I've never heard of such a thing! Imagine an industry that tries to create a demand for something useless. Can't imagine it.

Jim and TereWhich Barth to buy??
OTOH, mortgage everything, raid Ft. Knox, sell your wife and kids, build a very large building and buy all of the Barths you can find. 'It's a wonderful life'.

As you read this, there are scores of designers frantically using CAD programs to figure out how to have the first slide LONGER than the RV body

The only thing left is a telescopic chassis that gets not only wider when it parks, but longer, as well.
Or a telescopic double-decker.

Moonbeam-ExpressHiLo did that, right!
It doesn't matter how long, wide, high, low, number of slides, tip outs...........they're still just a two person rig. If you want to find an escape from you sig other, buy a 5000sq ft house!

Jim and TereKnow of a couple that bought two 5000 sq ft houses. When one moved to get away, the other moved right along side. They both finally died ending that charade.
