Can someone please provide info on the following 2 items; -in the rear engine compartment, passenger side of my 1990 Regency with Cummins 8.3 there is a button marked fuel primer. What is it and when do you use it? I can find no posts on Barthmobile to cover this application. -When placing your coach on jacks, the process calls for putting the jacks down, dumping the air tanks to lower the coach and make adjustments after that. How do you dump the air tanks? I know its probably a stupid question but I can find no posts on Barthmobile to cover this and no documentation in the folders that came with the coach. Comments would be appreciated Clint

I have a Racor fuel/water filter that will purge water and also has a primer. The only time you need to use the primer is if you lose prime to your engine and it will not start. Then go back to the rear and push the button. Actually I keep mine unhooked as it is not normally needed. However, it it great if changing the fuel filter and you lose prime. OR if you run out of fuel and need to reprime your system. BTW I never change my fuel filter unless it is plugged up. Only had the happen one time back in the 90s and got some bad fuel. I do carry one in the coach just in case. '92 Barth Breakaway - 30' 5.9 Cummins (6B) 300+ HP 2000 Allison Front entrance

Which reminds me while I highjack this thread, I don't have a water separator thing on the 5.9 Breakaway. Should I? Where is it located? Jim

On my coach there is a rocker switch on the floor on the left side of the drivers seat and it is next to the HWH lift controls. My switch is labeled "air dump", it's a momentary switch and it releases the air in the airbags/tanks. I haven't noticed the primer button you mentioned. If you could pinpoint the location or better yet post a picture of it in proximity of the engine I would be very interested as I have been experiencing loss of prime and can't seem to resolve it. Maybe I have the same button and the label is missing? 1990 32' Regency Spartan Chassis Cummins CTA8.3 Allison 4 speed

Steve: Thanks for the input. Kevin also mentioned the location for the dump switch. I feel really foolish for not checking the floor closely. I got the coach home in November just prior to a snow storm and have not put the jacks down. My fuel primer button is located on the passenger side in the last compartment to the rear. On my coach, this is a small door roughly "12-14" square. My coach has a Cummins 8.3 with front mounted rad and Spartan chassis like yours. Inside the compartment, to the right is a metal panel which faces the rear and has all the circuit breakers and electrical solenoids etc. (associated with the engine) mounted on it. That panel has a lip on its edge which faces out at the door. Mounted on this lip, near the bottom of the compartment are two items. The top item is a momentary push button marked fuel primer and the other is a battery shutoff which manually disconnects all the power to the forward wiring compartment under the driver's seat. I should also mention that Barth provided no circuit breaker protection for the latter mentioned switch to the front compartment, If you were to short out the #1 gauge lead in the front compartment or along the chassis route of the cable, you could have a fire. I plan to install a 120 amp circuit breaker just prior to the disconnect. There is room on the panel to do this. Clint

Gary: Almost forgot to thank you for your input. It makes sense that the button might be used for fuel filter changes to re-pressurize the system. I will attempt to follow the wiring with my tone tracer to see where the connections terminate- this when the weather warms up- if it ever does. Currently 10 degrees outside now with 12-15" of snow predicted for tonight. When will it ever end? Clint
