My grandpa bought this motor home new when he retired in 88/89? not sure i was about 5yrs old at that time lol. He gave it to my parents about 10 years ago when he was to old to use it. they've used it like twice in that time. Were just not motor home people. I've convinced them to sell it so i can buy a boat for the family. It would be nice to know if they are more valuable than what the NADA guide suggests. Its an 88 Barth Regal. Its got 31k miles on it. with at Chevy powertrain that's nothing for a GM set up. He was a dyno tech at GM and I am now. I know engines! What transmission would that be? a TH400? Runs great and its in great shape other than some minor issues and the pain from sitting outside. I'm looking to sell it but i'd like to know what these things are worth. I know boat and jetski repair. Thats my forte. Some insight on the motor home world would be greatly appreciated. Other than craigslist and Ebay, whats the best place to sell? I want to buy a boat for the family. My parents live on the lake he grew up on. It would be nice to take him out on the lake a few times before its to late.

The value of these things is extremely variable. Since they are aluminum and steel, the bottom price is scrap price, at least better than the generic fiberglass rig. Assuming they are roadworthy, the value depends on size, style and total miles. The Barth coaches, more than most, vary widely in the floor plan and accessories. In their day, they were "custom" coaches, top priced in their class. Today, most buyers want slides, warranties, and factory support. Barths lack all of these. They appeal to people who recognize good construction and are willing to invest a little time and cash to get them running at a fraction of the new coach price. Research the posts on this site. Be sure to list in detail all the features of your particular coach. You have low mileage, probably 454 V8 and TH400 trans. Once it is well documented, a relative price can be ball parked. Good luck with the sale. This site should attract the attention of potential Barth buyers. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

If you scan Barth Sold post it will give you some estimate of what your coach is worth. A coach that has not been used a lot will some times bring issues lowering the value. Sitting will cause problem with fuel system. oil not being changed, generator not wanting to start, AC fans freezing up, Tires may look good- over 7 year old need replaced.Batteries need replaced. I am not trying to devalue you coach, If you want to spend the time and money to make sure every thing works. (fridge, furnace, hot water heater, AC, engine AC, Charging system, leveling system, ect. you will incease the value. The 28' Regal is a nice size Barth. As far as value, scrap up to ?. With the info you have given $4000.00 OBO. Posting Pictures on this sight is a good place to get your coach sold. Thanks guys. I'll have to get some pictures and post them on this site. I was thinking it was in the $4000 range. Everything works and my g'pa was organized as hell. He must have had a label maker back in the day. Everything's labeled. im talking as far as matching grey labels over the wheel wells to tell you the tire pressure lol. Im glad he did it cause it makes it easier to figure everything out but wow. I would never get that crazy with anything. I'd love to keep it and use it but my friends and family don't camp like we used to. At my age everyone's got toddlers so weekend trips are limited. Snowmobile season is the only time we leave town.
