Sources of financing??

Any of you guys have any experience in finding financing for a coach that is 10 or more years old? My experience has been that if the coach is more than 10 years old, finance companies are not interested. I'm hungry for some of the beautiful older Barths out there for sale, but find myself $30 to $40K short. Any suggestions????

I became a "new" Barth owner a year ago this month. As a member of a VA Federal Credit Union, I had no problem in getting financing there. Not sure if this is any help to you, but if you are a Credit Union member it is sure worth checking out. The interest rate was as good or better than most lending agencies which is always a plus. Good luck.

We financed ours at the credit union at the newspaper where my wife works. It's should be just like a car if you have the credit and the value of the coach is there.

I have checked with my credit union recently and the story is if the RV is a 1992 or older they will only loan up to 5 years. They will go up to 12 years for a 1993 or newer.
It does not make any difference if the coach is a Barth, Bluebird, Prevost or a "Southwind" to them. Quality isn't the issue, just the year!
So far my Barth search finds me wanting (dreaming for) a 28 ft. Cummins Breakaway with the rear queen. I think it is the perfect size RV and with the best layout that Barth has ever offered. If Barth had made this size and configuration available in the '80's for their gas Regal line, they would be one of the hottest RV's on the market. I guess I'm like Bill H, I don't really like the mid-twin layout and do want to sleep with my Lady - period. And tho the rear bath on the mid-twins is great I don't like the ideal of over-nighters having to creep thru our bedroom to use the John. But that is just me.

Now that you mention it Nick I remember something like that also on my '85. We didn't want to go out farther but I am sure that rule was in effect. You know you can't buy an extended warrenty on a coach over 10 year old either.

Nick why don't you stretch out your coach dreams by just 2 feet and get that Breakaway that just went up for sale. Looks like a killer coach to me.

Suzy and I were in the fortunate situation to write a check on our equity line for our Euro, and at less than 4 we are pretty lucky. We also weren't totally happy with the floor plan, having desired a rear bedroom with a big bed, but we'll live with it for now and we never go anywhere alone so we know how to camp with friends.
