Hank JoinerHot spot/tether
I'm trying to find the best way to stay connected on the road. Has anyone used Pdanet to tether your iphone to create your own hotspot?
What do you do to stay connected?

bud@YXYWe use the Verizon hotspot system as well-- and it so far has been very good---seems to use more "mbs" than the previous usb internet connection did-- but we have more than one computer now, so the hotspot is the "solution".

Lance WaltonI have used PDANet for years. This last trip in Dec and Jan I connected to the net and my wife then connected through my laptop. It's not the fastest but it does work. We use Sprint as our cell phone service since it is the only service with truly unlimited data. Their reception sometimes leaves a bit to be desired.

StinkyDaddySherrie and I have Virgin Mobile, which is on the Sprint network. As others have said it's great when you have a signal. We figure for $35 a month, we get what we pay for. Our son Walker has an iphone that was given to him by Sherrie's uncle, it was on the Verizon network and Walker did some research and found Page Plus, which is a provider on the Verizon network. His plan is very cost effective and he has a signal almost everywhere. He had no problems switching from Verizon to PPC, did it all online. If you have a Verizon network phone that can be a hotspot it might be an option for you.

Marvin+DorisWe use a Hotspot from US Cellular. Cost $25 for 2GB monthly, works fast and you can connect like 4-6 units to it. You can use it in the car too, it is mobile running on battery. Had it now 6 months or so and pleased with it.
I was told to have a separate Hotspot was faster than using our smartphone as a hotspot.

Hank JoinerI think Verison might have the most coverage. Since I have AT&T I went by the local store and got a 10 GB plan for about $15 more a month more to my plan and a $100 rebate
At least we can watch House of Cards this weekend on or inaugural Barth trip
I'm checking all my list, fueling up and heading to Indian Springs State Park(Ga) for a nice test run.
