Being a new Barth shopper, I would like to ask everyone - how did you find your Barth? I suppose there are many members here who bought theirs brand new, but otherwise I'm having a hard time finding them. RVtrader.com doesn't even have Barth listed as a manufacturer (!), and there are only 2 Barths listed for sale NATIONWIDE at RVtraderonline.com. RVsearch.com only has 1 listed. It seems like finding a Barth may resemble that phrase "diamond in the rough"...

Apart from my personal shopping motivations (hehe), I'd still like to hear some of the purchase stories from members who would like to share. Thanks!

Have you done a good search thru the Barth's for sale forum? While some may be several months old, chances are good that there still for sale.

If you find one that's been sold add a note to the end of the listing to let us know that it's no longer for sale.

Ps. I found mine on it's way to the "Reclamation Center". The story. Eeker

http://www.rvtraderonline.com/adsearch/rvsearchprocess.html has 9 right now.

What length are you considering?

Get real firm on what floor plans you like. I bothered the heck out of sellers, asking them to measure, draw pictures, etc. Once we nailed down a floor plan we liked, we narrowed our search considerably.

Get close, and many of us will share our own opinions and biases which may be useful.

I have looked through the For Sale forum here, but only the first page or two. I'll search back further and see what I can find.

Okay forget any searching skills I pretended to have. 9 *is* more than 2, but it's still a low number. Wink I have e-mailed the dealership selling the Barth closest to me, no response yet.

Length and floorplans are flexible, but I need something that's big enough (preferably with room to spare) for me, my wife, and two boys ages 5 and 2. I'd say 28-34'. The boys need seperate places to sleep and I'd like a full or queen for my wife and I... so I need at least 3 "beds". With most Class A's I've seen, that will translate into a rear bedroom, and front couch and dinette. I also need rear seatbelts for the kids' carseats. Lounge chairs or dinette seatbelts will work, I've seen both.

So that's my story... Cool

With your requirement for three beds, that probably translates to a 32 or 34 or a shorter one with a gaucho bed up front. I don't believe anything shorter than a 32 had a dinette. There is a 32t in Russell Ill on www.rvtraneronline.com I have had a gaucho, and it was useful for one person. I even made a temporary gaucho out of plywood that stored in the bedroom when not in use. Just had 2X2 supports above side windows. Another consideration is a plywood board laid across driver and passenger seat. I did that, too. Third is a plywood bed laid across the cocktail chair pedestals in some layouts. Yup, did that, too when I had kids.

Sometimes, my two boys just had to suffer and share a bed, too. Head to toe cut down on the conflict. Smiler
