So I bought SueWs' 88 Regal, having it shipped to Iowa. Not yet sure what the plan for it is yet. If my spouse likes it and agrees to travel in it, then it has found a new home. If not I will get it all in running order and flip it, either way it is a great summer project. A really nice coach deserves a new life for sure.

This Regal sure looks to be a lot nicer inside than Ole Nose, should be here in Iowa this weekend, perhaps if all goes well and it gets road worthy it will make the trip to Minnesnowta in two weeks rather than Nose.

Cooll! New project. Always important to bring wife if possible. As my friend Jim Roller says, “she won’t drive the bus, so she gets to push!”

Or, “How do you install an AC? I need to explain to Joanie how to do it.” ROTFLMAO

Hoping you have a smooth transition.

Duane, I'm curious about how you're having it shipped. The guy from Denmark that bought my class c, had it shipped to the port on a car trailer. It was just barely low enough to fit under the bridges on the interstate. I think the cost from TN to MASS was about $1000.

We measured the RV and with A/C it was just over 10foot and the trailer was less than 3 foot bed height, so it shipped without permits. not cheap was $1500 from Knoxville to Clinton.

Is it on its way Duane? Or is it there? I figure I may hear a few whoops if I go outside and it’s there!

Yes it is here!!! Off the trailer and in my driveway! Took some time to look it over, engine and transmission seem good, the coach outside is really nice. the inside shows a bit of wear but nothing that can not be fixed.

The house electrical systems is another story gonna be a lot of investigation as to how and why it is as it is!!!

It has levelers looks like they have not been use in years and they seem to be disconnected one has the return springs missing, air bags in the back seem to be deflated needs investigation. It has the same shock mounts as Nose so I can put coil overs on the front. Generator and house power supply need checked out.

I don't think I will be far enough along to take it to Minnesota, but maybe Michigan!!

I am pretty happy with the coach on initial look see! Not in love yet though, ole Nose has that!!!

First job tomorrow is get the brakes working!!! Back wheels are a bit brake locked but finally started to roll, the road crew took a break and used one of their skidsters to help unload and get it in the driveway!!

Thought I might add, this coach has an AIR pump although no drive belt and a serpentine belt system. Also has the chassis original A/C compressor, be curious what I end up doing with it.

Sweet. Not in love yet you have not even gotten a first kiss? You just walked her to your car. ROTFLMAO

You know we are there for you. Tere is probably the subject expert with all her recent experience. One thing at a time. If you get her here for the GTG just think all the educated guesses you could get on issues.

You’ve got some famous friends others outside our group have never heard of. That was quoting a current country song.

For the cost of a round trip airplane ticket and some good wine, she'd probably do it. A warning: She is very thorough, very careful, does immense amount of research, and charges by the hour. My guess is that she would have everything done in about 2 months.

Geez,, Jim Wine for two months would break me!!

So I got to look at the brakes today, pretty sure it was the master cylinder replaced it and I have some brake pedal (none before) but the system needs to be bled. However someone took a vice grip to bleed valves, rounded them off and they are so tight I can not get them to unscrew. Hope I do not need to buy calipers just because of this stupid valve.

Going over to Harbor Freight and see what I can find to grip and loosen them.

So got a real sturdy pair of vice grips still no luck breaking the bleed valve free. Thought what can I lose, put the wheel back on and put the coach on the ground. To my delight there was great brake pedal. Started 88 up and tried to back up no luck brakes were frozen, shifted back and forth drive and reverse and they loosened up after a few minutes. Still probably will do a bleed but for now it seems ok. Backed it out of the driveway and turned it around and backed it in the driveway, the brakes seemed ok. Tomorrow will put some air in the tires and drive around town a bit, needs gas and what is in it now is 6 or 7 years old I guess,

Cool point, the master cylinder is from a 1980 P30, I got lucky and got a counterman at O'Reily That took the time to find a match to the master that I brought in, an initial check showed the one the book said I needed was different. Chevy must have been using up old inventory.

Took a closer look at the AIR pumps there are 2, one is completely disconnected, the other is still on the serpentine belt but the output is open to the atmosphere. The EGR valve is gone too. A/C compressor has no belt on it either.

The front air springs are disintegrated. Replaced them on Nose, what a pain. Think I will buy some coil over shocks and see if they work as well as they do on Nose before getting new air springs. Have not looked closely at the rear ones yet, but not much hope.

88 has an in-dash tack but it does not work.

Day one over!!
