Just wanted to say 'hi' to all of you in Barthland. Smiler I have been shopping for a used motorhome for several months now, and have learned all kinds of information from the RVForum.net and RV.net/forum discussion boards. But it wasn't until late last week when I discovered Barths. AND NOW I AM IN LOVE! I can't imagine buying any other motorhome for our first, although I might have to just becuase of our price range and the availability (or lack) of Barths in my area. I have NEVER seen one for sale personally, and rarely online... which is why I never even knew the brand existed before 6 days ago.

The mid-80's Regals are my favorite thus far, and likely what I could afford if I could find one for sale. Who wouldn't want a motorhome that's 20 years old but looks like it's 5? The advanced styling of the older Barths is what floors me the most. Every single one I've seen pictured here is beautiful.

That's about all I've got for now, but I plan on sticking around and increasing my Barth knowledge as much as I can. Wink

Welcome, Scotty. The best way to familiarize yourself with Barths is to buy Dave's Barth CD. It is a wealth of information.

Scott: Welcome neighbor. Where in Illinois do you live? We are in a southern suburb of Chicago 3 miles off of I-80 and I-394. We are the very proud owners of a 1985 Regal 28" with a 454. If you are ever close by, please Email us in advance and come by to inspect our Barth. It is kept at home and no problem to show it off. We will be gone the last week of Oct. for 2 weeks in the Ozarks. Anyone else passing by Chicago is welcome to say hello. There are several campgrounds close by to spend the night. I'm a few miles outside of the Bloomington-Normal area, about 1.5-2 hours (depending on traffic) southwest of you. Do you have any photos of your Regal? I'd love to see it virtually even if I never make it there for an in-person introduction. But if we are going to be in the area I'll certainly let you know. I have my wife convinced on motorhome ownership, but it might take SEEING a Barth to convince her that's the brand we must own. Wink

Hi Scotty,

Well I'm a newer Barth guy [since July 06.] I'll tell you this. My wife said lets go on line and look at "go rving .com" While on line I noticed a local rv place had a used section... I stumbled across this shiny aluminum thing called a Barth. The next day I was at a place in Glen Ellyn Il. asking about renting... After feeling less than enthused about my rental options, I asked the sales woman about the Barth... She smiled and said everyone looks at the Barth but no takers as of yet. I bought the Barth on the spot.

The power of a good Machine.

I went to school at Bradley in peoria, so I know your neck of the woods.

My question is... How many Barth owners are there in Illinois?

Paul

I'd love to get some info on that too... I can say I've never seen a Barth in person yet, but I've only been really checking out motorhomes (both rolling down the road and at dealerships) for about 6 months.

Paul after reading your first post and seeing that awesome photo of your Barth and its new family Wink, I'm not so worried about camping with my 2 boys (ages 5 and 2)!
