Dave,

I have used vonage for the last 2-3 years. About $28 for unlimited calling in the US with some out of US coverage at no charge. Over all very good, sometimes conection is bad and just have to redial, do not have the echo that was a problem when first started using service. When we started using the service it was like talking overseas 10 years ago.

You will want to have a cell phone as if power goes out you will not have phone service. You do need to be tech savy as there are times it will stop working and you have to disconnect and reconnect the devices to get the phone working again.

Thank Jeff,

Do you have the modem then hooked into your wall outlet so that all your extensions are active?

Hey Dave,

I also use Vonage and have for well over a year. I had some inttial problems but it turned out I had a bad modem and when I got a new one I've had no problems except with my internet provider which when that happens you have no phone service but it is rare. We use all portable phones so I'm plugged into one phone jack, I would think Vonage could answer your phone jack question noone here can. As long as you already have high speed internet service it's a great deal, if you have to get that just so you can get VOIP it may not be worth it because you might not see any savings. I would'nt go back!
