I am looking for info about who does good paint work on Barths-painting aluminum body; I feel need special attention. What kind of paint is best to use - how much prep work must be done, etc.? Would like to stay within a days drive of Houston Tx. Also looking for different paint designs. I have picture of orginal paint job and coach was repainted ahout six years ago. The model is a 1987 26 foot, with diesel puller.

We just went through the repainting process. Our coach is a 93 32ft Regency. We bought the coach knowing it needed painting so we just figured that into the cost. I have a friend that owns a body shop and had talked to him about painting it before we bought it. He did me a BIGfavor. I let him work on it between the insurance jobs that pay the bills so it took almost 3 months to complete. he had the coach most of October, November, and December.

I paid $5,000 but ask what would he charge to do another one and the answer was $8,000 to $9,000. It maybe less considering your coach is 6 feet shorter. I think he did a good job and have had lots of comments on the coach. The only other member of the forum that has seen it is Rusty. My avatar is a recent picture

We also wanted to change the paint scheme and got lots of ideas from Dave's CD. My one word of caution on schemes is to stay with some type of classic stripes. They just look good on the Barth's because the coach has a retro look to it.

I'm probably a little to far away but if you would like to talk to Terry, he painted the coach, PM me and I will put you in contact with him.

Good luck,
Nick
