Is it just my imagination or are there a bunch of very nice 80s Regals that are just not selling? I think that there are currently five in the 'for sale' forum starting with Ed Chavalier's and they all look pretty nice and the prices seem very reasonable. Maybe the 454s days are numbered. I still think they are a great buy especially for someone that doesn't do a lot of long distance traveling and is on a limited budget. After you get them dialed in, they're pretty inexpensive to maintain. Jim

You raise an interesting point, Jim. I find it interesting to watch the type of people that end up in a Barth coach. Once was, they were well heeled spenders who proudly spent hundreds of thousands for a new premium coach. Now we see more down to earth types, who recognize a well built machine at a reasonable price. The diesels still seem to be holding a bit of their "white collar" status while the gassers seem like the "blue collar" rigs. Since the gassers are overall older and have more miles, I think they place additional maintenance demands in the buyer's mind. As we know, the gassers are fine if you go through them and make things right, they will last a long time. Certainly, the parts are cheaper and more available. I will continue to promote the gas coaches, they can be more affordable to buy and operate. With 3 trips to Florida, 2 trips to Denver and 3 GTG events in the last couple of years I'm proof it can be done. Long live the Regals! 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp | |||
