Lee is from the Washington, DC area. You know the $600.00 toilet seat people?. So when he said he was updating his 24 foot Barth, I assumed there would be some cost over-runs but this is ridiculous.

I was almost ready to kick him off of the site for having the gull/gall/gaul/guts to paint his bumper.

Gull

Any of various chiefly coastal aquatic birds of the family Laridae, having long wings, webbed feet, a thick, slightly hooked beak, and usually gray and white plumage.

Gaul

All Gaul is divided into three parts, one of which the Belgae inhabit, the Aquitani another, those who in their own language are called Celts, in our Gauls, the third.

Julius Caesar’s comments on these people from his book, The Gallic Wars.

Caesar goes on to say, "Of all these, the Belgae are the bravest, because they are furthest from the civilization and refinement of [our] Province, and merchants least frequently resort to them, and import those things which tend to effeminate the mind."

The paint job on our modified Barth suggests that Lee has been doing too much business with the civilized merchants.

Gall
1. A skin sore caused by friction and abrasion: a saddle gall.
2.
a. Exasperation; vexation.
b. The cause of such vexation.

Exasperation
The state of being exasperated; frustrated annoyance

However anyone that has the gall to drive a pink modified Barth with what appears to be four silicone supported breasts on the front is clearly living outside the bounds of acceptable behavior. Nonetheless I want one.

Thanks Dave:

Timothy

A theater in Studio City, 1971-2 John Lennon Concert for Biafra (or something like that), questionable box of brownies...boy does your hometown bring back memories, actually, I have no memories of that time beyond what I just shared.

Dave:

There is always the less ambiguous huavos or the one I favor, the vernacular expression used to describe spherical bearings.

Bill, yep nothing worse than getting the Barth Gulled, it sure is hard on the paint.

Dave;

Oh my god our paths have crossed. My wife was sitting in the middle of our group and made us the center of attention when she belted out "Make the stage stop breathing".

Ah the past, while not regretted best not reenacted.

LOL, great stuff Dave.

Timothy

Not to stretch this out Tim, but I do recall that breathing stage and my Pinto hitting 242 MPH on my way back to Reseda that evening.

Gullibility runs in my family. 80 years ago, my Dad took a gal to a dance and everone in town knew she was with child except him. Is that a real picture? A real Barth? And only 24' long? Looks like at least 50'.

Think it used to belong to Jayne Mansfield.

All it needs is modern windows, repaint and a brow cleanup, and it would be nifty today. Maybe set the headlights back a little.

Yeah, and maybe an AVDS-1790 4-bolt engine and an Allison CD-850 transmission.

If it is like some I have seen, it is pretty simple. It is all mechanical, with two identical front axles with slightly different length center-mounted steering arms. Akkermann and all that.

I wonder if one of the rear axles steers or lifts.

That little jalousie window for the driver must be fun.
