While installing the rear RideRite bags today, much to my dismay, I found both shock supports (upper) broken off! How is this repaired? Anyone heard of such a failure on the P30 chassis before?

Yes, this is a weak spot on P30s. Bilstein advises against installing their shocks without reinforcing the rear upper mounts. I can look and see if I have the instructions for welding them up if you have a fax. Or can snail.

Thanks Bill. I am going to take her to the Pros for this installation. Fax is at work and I don't plan to lay eyes on it for at least two weeks. :-)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Ahhhhhhhh! New shocks! Heck "any" shocks would be new since the others were not connected! Remarkable that I didn't park it in a ditch somewhere before getting the shock mounts repaired!

Six hundred mile trip (MS, FL, LowerAlabama), 7.7MPG, but struggling on the long grades. Lost an AC cover somewhere along the way. Bet the traffic behind me thought "WHAT THE !!!". Going to replace both exterior and interior AC housing covers.....suggestions, comments???

All AC shrouds suffer from UV deterioration from exposure to sunlight. If your coach is stored outside, I would recommend coating it with white roof paint. I like Liquid Roof or Liquid Rubber.

Hey Bill,
Do you have to reinforce the shock mounts on the front?
Thanks,
Ed

Thanks for the link Bill. These guys probably deliver more quickly, but Camper's Corner has them beat on pricing by about 20%. I'm getting a quote from a local RV repair shop also.

A curse of raining frogs on all of you! You got me hooked on this RV stuff, Barth in particular and I am totally addicted! I have three motorcycles that need attention and all I do is play with the Barth! :-)

Eddie, I know nothing about reinforcing the front shock mounts. Mine are doing OK for a couple of years, as did the previous P30.
I might add that I noticed the most improvement when I put Bilsteins on the front. Bilsteins in back were indeed better, but not as big a difference as the front. I suspect that the weak front suspension needs more help than the pretty much OK rear suspension. Of course, IPD and Supersteer finishes off the front nicely. I am now looking into converting my front to a P32 wide track. Not too hard to do, I would hope.
