I am a newbie here also and I backed into a Barth that was on E-Bay but it was missed labeled as a 'Garth'. It was a State of Oregon Fish Tagging unit. A 1976 10 wheeler with a Chev 454 and 400 Tran. We replaced the battery and it fired up on the second try. Also thankw to you guys I found the windshields in Eugene, Or for $270.00 plus shipping and install. I will take pics of before and after. Also I need to figure out how to put a bath in there as it has none. I will be around. Thanks Don Frazier Portland, Or

It was probably owned by Garth Brooks a few year back, you think? Have fun for sure.

Frazierds:
I beleive you found yourself a nice little deal on that Garth. Could be a fun project.
Your imagination is the only limitation.

For use as a hunting, fishing or camping lodge, I've seen quite a few old trucks and buses fixed up using conventional equipment; regular household appliances and bath fixtures. These are a lot cheaper but take up a little more room.

Keep us posted on your progress. We've seen the "before" pictures. If it had been in my neighborhood, I'd have paid that price for the spare parts benefit.

Some people need a carriage lined with gold and frilly lace,

To travel the same path as a stroller at a slower pace,

The views are the same as is the smell,

As both stop to drink at the same mountain well.

The destination holds for both, sadness and cheer,

For those we avoid and those we hold dear.

Both travelers will marvel at scenes just the same,

And hold dear the memories from where they just came.

So whether it's carriage, foot, cycle or saddle,

We're drawn around the next corner, regardless of the mode of travel.

Welcome Don, and I just have this sneaky suspicion that a year and 1 1/2 years from now the memories of that coach being a fish tagging station will be over and you folks will be experiencing some great adventures

Dave: Your site is great!!!! My wife cannot understand why I am taking so much time here. I may be posting to the wrong site but I have two questions. (1) How do I get your CD? (2) Since I have bare walls and ceilings where could I get the very best floor plans for a 34f or let me be a little more free with my space and use the plans for a 30-32footer.

Don,

You may want to go to some of the RV shows and see what floor plans you like and get some great ideas. At the shows you will also find places that re-do the inside of a coach, they may have plans or my help you design it for a small fee.

Here is one close to you:
Custom RV Interiors, Inc.
9333 N.E. Highway 99
Vancouver, WA 98665

There is also one in Junction City (I think) or down in that area. I talked to them at the Salem RV show. Once you have the plans you can then decide if one of the salvage places will have the need basics.

Come on guys, it isn't that good, I wrote it in about 40 seconds. The point is the journey not the means of travel is the important thing. We love our coaches but a family in a tent is equally blessed. But boy do I love my coach.

FYI,

A junkyard in Missouri, by the name of Colaw RV, has RV type EVERYTHING, so as you don't have to use household type items, if you don't want to.

I priced engine/trans combo. Late model Cummins w/ World trans. I was quoted, $7500 for combo and any piping I could use.

This was a couple of years ago, but I would guess, that they are still a reasonable, relativaly cheap parts outlet.

I have not been in contact with them lately, but if I needed a fridge or roof-air or water heater, I would inquire.
