Due to the concern over higher fuel prices and given that everyone wants more power to propel their coach, i have been working in secret with Bill H and Ron on a new project. In fact it is so secret that this will come as a surprise to them. >) Here is what we have come up with.... first you take out the whole running gear and sell it, you will gain cash and a weight savings. Next you buy electric drive motors,( 2 or 4 depending on whether you want front drive, rear drive, or all wheel drive.) These are now wired to our new energy source which is.....ta dah, nuclear powered. This will be a very small reactor that is powered by a piece of uranium that is a little smaller than a pea. The whole thing will weigh less than 50 lbs. not counting the weight of the water and new tank needed for cooling the reactor. All of this can be placed in your engine compartment to balance out the weight of the running gear you took out, plus you will have some extra room for storeage. Now the advantages to this system are as follows; no cost after initial outlay....you can smile as you pass by the gas stations , always have hot water, don't have to carry oil or anti-freeze or filters, no need for a generator, fuel tank, or solar panels (sell those too!) everything can be 110v electric. Make money whether you are on the road or sitting at home, all you need to do is use a couple of M/M cords, pat. pending,( Thanks Ron ), and sell your excess to the power company. This baby has been estimated to put out enough juice to power a town of 8 to 10 thousand people, and should last for 30 years minimum, (thanks for the calculations, Bill ). Now there might be one or two little things that some people might perceive as drawbacks to all this, but we are working on that and hope to have them resolved some day. The first is cost. The plumbing is cheap, but the reactor and uranium are not. Projected costs are around $500,000.00, however that will be recouped within 2 years or less of selling excess power, also the value of your barth should skyrocket....pardon the pun. Now for the other minor thing......have you ever seen one of the Data Storms in use at night? They have that little blue glow when they are on? Well your barth is gonna have a green glow at night inside and out but hey, no need for a nite lite plus you can always find it in the dark in a strange rv park. Also if you have pets and let them out at nite you will no longer need a flashlight to locate/keep an eye on them. Also at nite you will know if your spouse is visiting at another campsite. As a side line you can also rent out your barth to anyone needing radiation treatments. " When life deals you lemons make lemonade ". The first prototype is under going tests as i speak, by Bill and Susan H along with their pets Calvin and Hobbs. So if you see a green glow on the horizon, wander on over and say hi to them and see how they are doing. Projected prodution date is, (tongue in cheek ), scheduled for April 1st 2006.

Seems to me that I've already seen a similar device for $19.95 in the J.C. Whitney catalog.....Can't remember for sure, but I think I bought one for my first car when I was 17......

After all the silly threads lately about storms and gas prices etc., it's good to see that we're finally getting back to some serious RV talk. Thanks for the Saturday afternoon spirit lift!
