A few weeks ago there was a 1992 30' Barth with a Cummins diesel on E Bay. It went really
high,$20,200. Yes way too much. The buyer had been wanting a diesel so he decided he would bid .
since he had lots of experience in bidding on E Bay he thought he had a winning method.
WELL dear GOD above it did not work and here is why. When the bidding got to be around
$17,000.00 with increments at $100.00 so as not to lose the final bid he added another
$2500 (silent bid) with only 7 seconds remaining he was confident he would only be charged
$100.00 or $200.00 more and be the winner. However another bidder had the same ingenuous
idea. He bid $20,176.92 at 5:58:31 and the buyer bid $20,200.00 at 5:59:53 difference of
$23.08 and difference in time one minute and 22 seconds.
A new owner of a diesel Barth, something the buyer had always wanted.
Now of course this was bought sight unseen. It would soon be revealed a very bad idea.
Since the buyer wanted me to have my first experience of RVing and not want me to drive
the car back 500 miles by myself, it was decided we would go by Greyhound bus. Since
Greyhound does not go to Wabash, Indiana, the nightmare began.
Fortunately I have a twin sister in Anderson, Indiana, 50 miles before Wabash.
My sister picked us up after an all night ride on the bus (what a ride) and drove us to Wabash.
The coach looked great and we were so excited.
The seller began to go over everything that had been done to the coach. New brakes and 6
new batteries had been installed. While checking the fresh water, there was a leak
and it was repaired. Seller said you need propane as we used it up and once you fill it up
everything will work fine. The cash $150.00 for paying in 48 hours was not ready.
The buyer departed the seller's lot following my sister and I to a propane dealer, approximately
30 miles away. After arriving at the propane dealers the coach was shut off. WEll, when we
went to start it up again it would not start so it had to be jumped started. We said our goodbyes
to my sister and away we went. Well we hear a loud noise and lo and behold the closet door in the
bedroom had fallen down(thank God I was not on the bed), it sounded like someone had run into us.
As we got on down the road ready to turn to go to I 69 the brakes was applied and they
pulled us right into on coming traffic and the transmission slipped. It was quickly decided we were
going back to the seller. A call was made back to seller and a message left on answer machine we
were on our way back, and please have someone meet us. WEll of course no one was there to meet
us, so we called my sister and she came back for us. We spent the night in a motel next to the place
of business. The next morning after a sleepless night and a good breakfast we went back to the
seller's business. We felt we had been taken. A lot of hard earned money gone we thought.
After much conversation with the seller and his Dad (the mechanic) a list was given to them of
things we found wrong and we were told everything would be fixed and the coach would be delivered to
us here in Tennessee.
Since there was propane on board and the refrigerator was checked, it did not work and had to be
replaced. They also repaired the transmission, serviced all brakes, because the calipers were frozen also
all lights were checked and were ok. This took three(3) weeks to accomplish.
Last Thursday August 21,2008 we got a call that the Barth was on its way to us and would be here Friday
the 22nd.
Friday morning around 7 a.m. we received a call there had been a accident, and the front of the coach had come
in contact with a orange and white stripe barrel in a construction area.
The coach arrived here at our home around 3 p.m and was taken to a body shop of our choice for an estimate.
The seller agreed in writing to pay to have coach repaired and also to have the new refrigerator connected
because they were not sure as to how the new wiring was to be done and did not want to have it ruined. The seller also gave
us the early pay bonus of $150.00.

Now you know who paid too much for this Barth, but you also know it will not be for sale, however to add insult
to injury several months ago making preparation for the GTG in Chattanooga, Carl had the entire old coach completely
checked out, complete engine tune up, cooling system flushed, transmission flushed, new belts, tuned generator
two new steering tires, bell cranks installed, front end alignment, all bearings repacked, all roof vents sealed,
replaced refrigerator vent hood on roof, serviced all three heaters, checked hot water heater, replaced several water lines, repaired shower valve,
installed Per-Lux stainless steel (not chrome)fog lights ($150.00) and other things he can
not think of right now.....Then he decided to buy a diesel !!!
Now you know the rest of the story.. between the over priced Breakaway and all the repairs to the current Regal SE
the childrens inheritence money is rapidly disappearing.

FYI....This seller trades on E BAy under the name--neenermcknight
A.K.A-- Trucks Plus 1812 S Wabash St., Wabash, Indiana 46992
He has no office phone, only cell phones, Be guided accordingly
Bill NY has graciously offered to change my pictures on our site as soon as I can get new shots of the new diesel.
