We had tornados touch down here in the county. Lots of damage, but luckly no one was injured or killed. Thnk GOD. Ray Murphy 1990 Barth Regency 32RDGB1 Wide Body 3208 Cat 250 HP Gillig Chassis Center aisle

Amen to that. A tornado hit Telico Plains, just 5 miles east of us and injured several, but no deaths. The town is shut down now. My son-in-law and I were feeding horses and watched a twister form right over Madisonville, just 2 miles from where we stood. Seconds later, our cell phones rang with warnings about tornadoes in Madisonville. My son-in-law modified his property insurance after this one. Hum

Had a touchdown 20 miles south of us and it killed two women and injured several others, destroyed 5 homes completely and damaged others. Hwy 127 was shutdown (that was on Wednesday). Friday we got hail and more tornado warnings. the tornado was in Cumberland County TN. Might buy a shelter or stay out West in the spring ... It is so sad and our hearts go out to the people that lost so much (I still remember seeing Greensburg KS after that terrible twister). 1999 Bluebird Custom 33' 8.3 Cummins diesel pusher Former owner 1989 Barth Regal 25'

I am especially sorry to hear about the damage in Telico Plains because that is a location to which I can personally relate. After we drive the Cherohala from East to West, we get something to eat at Telico Plains before we head back to Robbinsville or Fontana Village. After our vacation and MINIs on the Dragon last year, we saw tornado damage across the river from US129 as we crossed from NC to TN. A path was cut through the forest with trees down as if a humungous lawn mower had cut through. Then on the S. side of Knoxville, we saw more damage near U of T. So, the damage last week was in the same general area. We will be back down there eight weeks from today. In some states, The exact same towns hit hard nearly a year ago were again hit hard last week. The damage in some pictures is mind-boggling, in some cases across the street from nearly undamaged structures.

I hope someday technology will get to a point where we know days in advance exactly what severe weather is coming. Owning an RV home will make great sense when you can drive half your property to safety. Living on Florida's west coast, our main danger is a hurricane. Thankful, we usually see those coming well in advance. Twisters are so much less predictable. Hope all of you have a safe year wherever you are tethered. Much damage around me but no trouble here on "the Bluff". We had very high winds but no rain and certainly nothing compared to what others endured. My heart goes out to the unfortunate that suffered damage, or worse, the death of a loved one. We had tornado watches all yesterday, along with severe thunderstorm watches. We got sustained winds of 25 mph, gusts to 40. Winds have continued today. And only a few sprinkles of rain.
