Settling relative's estate and heir wants toyota sienna van deluxe moved/shipped to Oregon from FL.
* She has looked at shipping it (I think that is about $1500-2k?)
* I thought of driving it out flying back (cheaper but costly in time).
* I don't want to just tow it out with the Barth unless I could do other things on the trip, which won't work with time window currently.
* I am not sure about having it driven out by a service because I am unfamiliar--- and unfamiliar with my becoming such a driver of someone else's vehicle for the return trip.
* I've said all along it would be better to sell it here and send the $ and buy one like it there, but such logic is not welcomed.
Anyone have experience recently or advice? I'm thinking I'm missing an option or two. TIA,

Look into shipping it by train if you and the next owner have access to that. At times it is much cheaper. And if shipping by carrier, SHOP AROUND! An open carrier is much cheaper than enclosed and for this vehicle I do not think you need to be enclosed. Also, if you have the time you want to let the carriers know what you have and where it is going. Then ask them to call you when they may have a load going that way. You will get a much better deal if you are the last vehicle to make a full load...

Actually, I have the van with me in Atlanta...it was 'orphaned' in Sarasota, but I brought it up here for some maintenance. So point of origin would be here.

Depending on height it might fit on a flatbed or similar. Since we operate dry van I am not familiar with open trailer rates, it goes by miles and required equipment. But it should be a LTL (less than truckload) and just call Mercer in Louisville KY or the local office for C.H.Robinson (big brokerage) for a quote. Get measurements. Or have you tried uship? Never used it but you apparently can list it to find transportation directly from a trucker. Be careful about insurance and legit operation! Personally we only go to Reno NV and do not operate in OR otherwise I could have followed my husband in the big truck and driven the van for you.

The reason I asked the origin point, several of us old seniors like to get away for a few days.
You pay all expenses out and air fare home, we take care of night parking and meals........
