Ric "Turtle"Best road west from Green Bay
Raincatcher & I will be driving his "new" Barth west from Green Bay the first part of June. We're thinking I-94 or I90 across the top. Any thoughts, advice, suggestions?

We made the same journey only in reverse a few years ago when we picked up our Barth in Seattle.
We chose I-90 mainly because of weather. We left Seattle the first week of April. We went over the Cascades vie Hwy 2 because of the snow. The interstate had chain requirements where as Hwy 2 didn't. We picked up I-90 in George and had snow until Bozeman, MT. We decided to stay a little more south and not follow the storm as much as we would have on I-94.
Both are good roads, I came out I-94 from Seattle on my bike a few years ago. If I were to do the trip again I would probably stay off the interstates and use Hwy 2 instead.
(edited to compensate for brain fade)

Gary CarterDon't know your destination, but if heading to the twin cities, you take WI 29 thru Wausau, Chippawa Falls and over to I94. Great road.
Or plug the destination into a gps and just drive. Always amazed to arrive where I wanted to go.

Shadow manTJ, surprised you got thru on 20 when you did. This year they just got the pass opened for the season 2 weeks ago.

That's cause I had a brain fart.....wasn't Hwy 20 it was Hwy 2 we took between Seattle and George

Shadow manThat makes more sense, 20 is a lot farther route to go and is a higher pass than Stevens pass.

Tom, did you take Hwy 2 all the way to Wisconsin? Where is George?

George is a small town on I-90 just East of the Columbia river, about 130 miles from Spokane. We kept on I-90 from there to Tomah Wisconsin, then Hwy 21 to Oshkosh.
It was our maiden voyage and we had limited time or we would have taken Hwy 2.
