Well I was told I was in the Mary Ray club but my second coach got side swiped today it was the 77. I don’t know if bodywork can be fixed?I don’t know what they’re going to do insurance wise . A fellow clipped the back corner then hit his brakes. I was broke down on my way for service,he was going about sixty. Anyway I’m heartbroken thinking is my beautiful Barth going to be fixable ? I think the generator and storage compartment frames could be replaced, with new skins for the doors? The back corner may be more trouble but I think the frame is OK. The other side looks great for a 77! [/IMG]

Oh no! I hope it can be fixed. Let us know what happens. At least it sounds like no one was hurt. Good luck 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

I agree with Steve, sorry about the damage but if no one was hurt, got something to be thankful about. 1971 24 ft Barth Continental P30 chassis 350 engine

your profile does not indicate what your Barth is, nor do your posts in this thread. Whether it is "fixable" is largely determined by the age, construction and market value of the coach. If it is from the 70's or 80's, I'm guessing the insurance company will total it. As I understand the facts, it should be the adverse party's insurance who pays for repair or total loss. whoops... just noticed you mention "77". So, it is almost certainly a total loss, whereby the cost of repairs would exceed the Actual Cash Value. Another possibility is for it to be determined as a "Constructive Total Loss", whereby the cost of repairs PLUS residual salvage value equal or exceed the Actual Cash Value. In the latter scenario, you might be permitted to keep the salvage by having the residual value deducted from your Actual Cash Value settlement. I sincerely hope this does not set off another discussion of "value" and the insurance claims process (which was my career).

I did not see any pictures but if sideswipe means the outer aluminum skin, any repair is an easy job. Most likely you could have the skin and the 1” tubing that is used for support damaged and that takes very little time to remove, replace and repaint. You will get next to nothing from insurance so forget value. If you like it just get a shop to fix it and keep on Barthin’. 1993 32' Regency Wide Body, 4 speed Allison Trans, Front Entry door, Diamond Plate aluminum roof & 1981 Euro 22' w Chevy 350 engine and TH 400 tranny

I saw some pictures but don't know where they went. The damage was extensive to the left rear of the coach.

A good airplane man can fix that. You should have seen the planes Marvin's dad fixed and made fly again after being tossed around by tornadoes or bad landings. Looks like a coach worthy of saving. 1999 Bluebird Custom 33' 8.3 Cummins diesel pusher Former owner 1989 Barth Regal 25'

There seem two be at least two threads for the same problem. Yes, of course it is "fixable"... for several thousand dollars, which makes it a Constructive Total Loss to the insurance company. significant structural damage, not merely skin (which is very difficult to match). What a shame

That seems to be a small percent of damage compared to the overall size and condition of the RV. As Doris pointed out a good sheetmetal person could fix the skin. Major supporting structure does not to appear (from the phot) to be that great of a factor. There also are a lot of Barths, it seems, that owners are about ready to disassemble making some storage doors and skin shapes and panels available. I'd go after the idiot that was traveling at 60 mph and couldn't see a full sized MOTOR HOME! Take him for everything you could get. #1 29' 1977parted out and still alive in Barths all over the USA

Thanks for all your input and thoughts on where to look for help. I have yet to hear from the adjuster. I called insurance co. They indicated probably a total loss but the report from whom assessed not in. Oh boy!

I would hate to see you lose her. She is soooooo beautiful. Except that corner. Not being able to actually see into the area looks like mostly fixable with the right person.
