UPS. REA was one of my customers in the late '60s-early '70s. Rail service by then was so abominable, they couldn't compete. That was in the days of the bankruptcies of the Pennsy, N Y Central (which merged and became Penn Central - for a time - and eventually became the core of Conrail). Dozens of other roads went belly-up or merged. Today's diesel price at Loves truck stop. $4.12 a gallon. Down another $0.34 in the last two weeks. Down from the peak here in GA about $0.70 a gallon. Nick | |||

Local store dropped from $4.89 to $4.24 in two weeks.
