With the subject of a 2014 GTG at Milford being brought up I realized that 2013 is a golden year for the first Barths. I don't think Mr. R.E.Barth could have ever dreamed that there would be 1000's of Barth owners giving such high praise to his patented build process that lead to quality built trailer, slideins, and motor coaches. Thank you Bill Barth. cheers

This brought back memories of my 1rst RV travels.Dad had sold his 57 Ford wood sided wagon and 58 18' Chris Craft cabin cruser to buy an order to spec 63 Pontiac Catalina wagon and a 63 18' Little Gem travel trailer.

With 4 kids, Mom and Dad endured a 6 week cross country trip that took us from Dayton to Californa and back. With memories of my 5th birthday playing with my new cap gun in the pine forest campground in Flagstaff AZ.while visiting the Grand Cannon. To Getting my Micky Mouse ears with my name on it at Disney. Driving around the drive thru Redwood.(trailer wouldn't fit thru). Mt. Rushmore, Badlands and Corn Palace.on the return leg.

This was the first of many RV vacations. Back then it was the affordable way to see the country. After Tens of Thousands miles traveling the country in Motor Homes I now say it was Pricless. Mom and Dad have passed. but the memories still remain.

Hoping to make GTG when WE can. It's not just the destination, It,s the journey. Tooling Along

Gee Doorman, maybe we should have our GTG this year instead of waiting for 2014/

It would be special to celebrate 50 years of Barth.

My best memories are of my childhood trips with my parents to Jugoslavia, Italy, France, Germany and of course Switzerland (incl winter ski vacations with NO indoor plumbing). A 60s Detleffs eggshaped travel trailer pulled by a 1962ish Austin. Also the yearly summertime tent trips to (in my eyes) most beautiful place - the island of Corsica. It led to a lifetime of camping adventures. GO CAMPING! ... on a second thought- all go to motels and leave the woods for me Smiler

We're planning on Milford in 2014 for sure. This summer could be tight with the Black Hills GTG.

Craig, we never had an RV when I was a kid, but we did some "National Lampoon" camping trips in the 53 Ford wagon. Great memories of three of us in the back seat... "I want the window seat... quit touching me you pig...Dad, make him (me!) stop doing that!.." Dad driving one handed, turning around, swatting at us in the back seat, what a hoot!

The 8 track player ate the tapes, so we unwound 'em out the window (Dad didn't know for a while) Got it so long we could reach the car behind... Ah the memories! ROTFLMAO

The cap guns bring back great memories, too! Thanks.

Doorman, thank you ever so much for bringing this to our attention. We are going to do what we can to make this a fitting event for the 50th Anniversary for Barth.

Nick has stated on another post that we have many rally's scheduled for this year.
I agree this year has many rally's scheduled but next year will not be the 50th Anniversary of Barth.

Got message and Bill_NY will not be able to attend.

Since there are so many GTG's already scheduled for this year it has been suggested that we have the 50th Anniversary GTG next year.
