After much trepidation I made the decision to buy the 21' '77 Bellevue Barth. I took the midnight train from Sacramento to Portland, met my brother who helped me navigate the congested byways of Seattle and arrived back in Beavercreek, south of Portland. I drove back to Roseville in three days-one day in Medford putting in a new starter.(The auto repair next to NAPA, next to Les Schwab, is an ex Toyota mech and knows his cr aft- Mark is his name.) At the Talent rest stop the rain found me and the roof leak over the dash torrential. One piece roof that never leaks?? Sales patter, but so far I like what I got!---Ted

Welcome to the wonderful ownership of a Barth. I bought a 1977 Barth 27 footer about 8 years ago and I have really enjoyed it.

The leak over the dash might be coming in from the marker lights. One piece roof with holes i.e. for marker lights, A/C, roof vents ... Frowner

Fear not Justine! That is one very cool Barth (I am partial to the short ones Smiler )

The leak is likely the marker lights. Little things are always going to pop up and you will have to track them down. I still have yet to figure out why my gen set won't continue to run after starting and I will be removing the driver's side window this winter season to fix a leak somewhere in the seal. A Barth with a leaky roof is just something to remedy... I have a friend who owns a stick and staple coach (who incidentally paid far more than you did, and even more than I did for our Barth) that had a leaky roof and over time, it rotted out the supporting cross members of his roof and now he gets nervous if he has to go up on top. Not something to worry about with the Barth and all aluminum construction.

Keep us posted on your progress. The Search feature of this site is your friend.
