Our 93 33' Breakaway was broken into, and access was gained through the window in the door. We are having difficulty finding a replacement glass as it is a double glazed bronze glass and the glass company could not come up with the model # of the glass or the manufacturer. If anyone can hwlp I sure would appreciate the help.
I intend to replace the deadbolt with one keyed on both sides.

Hey Don,

Not to butt in here but it has been my experience that Duncan is about 3 times more expensive than anyone else especially which it comes to windshields. I have advised others to just check a local windshield shop and virtually 100% have saved big bucks.

As the window is double glass I wonder if a film (that window tint stuff) could be applied to the inside of the outer glass to get the desired color?

As this would be sealed between the windows I think it would hold up well.

Good idea. BTW, when I did mine, the setback was slightly different, causing an edge of the door sheet metal to be exposed. I made an escuthceon of stainless sheet to trim things up. Just wanted to mention it in case yours is the same.

Now you've made me think I should have a label in two languages saying "Double Cylinder Lock". Are thieves smart enough to understand that? Do thieves read? Can they?

Sorry to hear about the breakin Don. I have a hard time figuring out what they would want so bad from somebody's RV. Anyway, Suzie and I wil be at Oscar Sheerer State Park over Labor Day weekend, site 68. If you're down this way or looking for a place to get away for the weekend stop in. The drive through sites across from us are supposed to be very nice, but I can't say for sure.

Guns, laptops, DVD players. Lots of RVers have them. The PO of my Barth had the radio stolen, so there was a hole in the dash when I bought it.

I had a broken piece of fixed glass for the drivers side vent window. I was rebuilding my Barth and didn't have it on the road so I figured the easiest thing for me to do was to remove the frame and bring it down to the glass place to have it made up.

The problem was that unless it's standard they wouldn't touch fixing it. I was also told it wasn't made anymore. The local glass companies didn't want anything to do with it.

I called Hehr direct and told them of my dilema. After getting passed around I talked to one guy who said "I know it's a longshot but was there a piece of masking tape with a number written on it still attached to the frame?"

The masking tape was still attached when I removed it but in my prepping of the coach I had tossed it out. I ran back down to the garbage can and pulled the tag out. The numbers that was on that tag is what he used to send me my pizza shaped vent window.

Hehr couldn't sell it to me directly so they gave me a reference number and a phone number to the shop down the street from them who sold the glass window with the frame.

If you don't believe this story then add a once upon a time in front of it. If you do and it's a Hehr then remove the window and pray there's a piece of masking tape with the number still on it and call them. I'm sure I'm not the only one to remove and reseal there windows. The ones in my coach that I have redone still had that masking tape on it.

All of the rest of the glass in my coach are made by Midwest Glass of Canada. Would the window in the door be of a different manufacture?

Don, how did you make out? I'm going up to a friends junkyard on Thursday to look at some motorhomes. I'm looking for brackets, a tank and hardware to add propane to my coach. Might find something else that I can't live without.

Could you take a picture of another piece of glass that represents the color as close as possible. Are you door window measurements 29 1/2 x 23 3/16? What's the frame color?

Another note: If you install a double locking cylinder in the door expect a larger window to get broken out if there's a next time.
