Only thing I'll have behind it is my motorcycle mounted on a carrier. Keep the cooling system extra happy with service and a few gallons of Koolit (think thats the name, used it on old brit cars with inadiquit? cooling systems) the stuff works amazingly well in them anyway.

Most of time I'm the optimist, when told I'm nuts I reply with "Touched is what I call it"Thanx for your reply, I L La Lah lah LUB this site already!

The Japanese engineers (and marketers) knew EXACTLY what they were doing. They were appealing to cruisers, not sport bikers. Despite the fact that my daily bike is a BMW, I give the Japanese engineers full credit for making some really nice sport bikes and sport-touring bikes.

Automobiles, motorcycles, trucks, RV's, dune buggy, three wheelers, quads, mopeds, trailers...anything with tires are like doctors. If you get a good one you fall in love with them and they are the best there is. It's all about the experience and reliability. I am sure that somewhere out there someone has had a bad experience with a Barth and thinks they are junk. Most of us know better. Some combinations are just better than others. But a quality made "anything" will be better than the "thrown together" something.....

p.s. Corey---I have had nothing but good experiences with Japanese bikes! Owned different models and manufacturers for over 30 years. I own a Kawi Nomad now. And my Harley Deuce has been much more reliable than the old Harleys. Amazing what technology does for reliabilty.....

I ran a motorcycle shop for 8 years and sold Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki. For the most part I agree that the Japanese make great bikes and know what they are doing. On this bike, you are just wrong. Go drive one then tell me it's anything but a bad design. Aside from the non existent clearance issue, the steering dives into a turn unpredictably, the front end bottoms out under moderate braking and despite its giant size, the seat isn't even comfortable and the center of gravity makes the bike feel even heavier than it is.....which is heavy!

No, this bike goes in the hopper with the Suzuki Madura, the Boss Hoss and all the other bikes that tried to make a statement at the expense of good design.

Which brings me back to this thread. Even great companies make great mistakes on occasion. Don't fall too much in love with a brand name, it is still Caveat Emptor.

as a member of the breakdown/tow away chapter I suggest a real life membership with Coachnet or Good Sams. All enthusiasm quits after paying a tow bill by a BIG semi sized wrecker. yepp, the bill can be 18 wheeler sized too. So Coachnet will tow you free to a repair place.

Good idea, I've been there with a ten wheeler, many years ago, big bite to the back pockett What's the yearly dues rate? Ballpark

would have to dig out the paperwork, ballpark about $135/year and it covers all your vehicles (incl. British cars ).
