1975 BARTH, CALGARY ALBERTA
Howdy all from Calgary Alberta!
Last night my boyfriend and I put a deposit on a 1975 Barth Class A Coach, 24 ft. I have the serial number(s) but don't know how to find out more about it using these numbers.
The Barth is a rare beast up here in Canada. We have only seen two for sale here in Calgary in the past month, the first sold in hours and we feel lucky to have found this '75 before it hit the market. It is all original and in excellent condition, other than the body style it doesn't look it's age at all.
The aluminum finish is oxidized and not shiny anymore. Can anyone recommend a product we can use to bring back it's lustre without marring the finish? Any other tips, suggestions or comments regarding our Barth will be appreciated.
We can't wait to go 'Barthing'.

Danny ZWelcome, and congratulations on your new Barth.
I'm hoping you mean it's original aluminum, not painted. There have been a few "tin cans" shown here and when they are polished up properly they are a thing of beauty. You will get some answers here, but lacking that, perhaps an Airstream or Avion forum could lead you in the right direction to bring back the shine. Good luck and post some pix for us, and keep in touch.

bill hHi Vera, and welcome.
Polishes are kind of like oil. Everyone has their favorite and they differ. Use the find and look for posts by Lee on "polish". I think he likes Nuvite.
My old airplane friends are not in agreement. Some like Flitz, Nuvite, Metall, and so on. Motorcycle restorers like Simichrome a lot. I use power buffing with polishing compound for the heavy work and then finish with Flitz. I find that it protects from our salt air the longest, but it is too expensive to use until the last stage. Be careful, as some of them will take the color out of your clothes. Simichrome, for sure.
Bush makes good stuff, too.
BTW, may I suggest that you attach a signature to your posts automatically? Take a look at others' and you will get the idea. It helps us help you when you ask a question.

RaymagWelcome to the Barth family.
This is the place to be for all the information you need for your Barth.
You are right about the rarity of Barth in Canada.
For me, I believe that I have the only Barth in Quebec. I've talked to a few old timer RV center owners and they remember seeing mine ( it has been sold a few time in its life)through the years, but they never seen an other one in the province.
I'm now the lucky owner of IT!
Again congratulations for your new acquisition.
