So as my plans grow I was wondering when I do create my destination should I have an annual Barth GTG? Can we have a West coast and an East coast chapter? Is there a need?

The destination planned will have space for up to 75 class A coaches and multiple camping spots with smaller RV sites as well.

I would be glad to have a 1 week gathering at cost to each member help the cause. Probably 2 years away but working hard.

Cheers and much love from the West coast.

To Barth or not to Barth? That is the question.

Meric, as a soon-to-be Barth owner myself, I too have thought of a regional GTG, the usual events in Indiana and points east being too far for me to ever attend. Not sure we have 75 Barth coaches west of the Rockies, so your number seems a bit too ambitious.

My observation has been that west coast postings come mostly from Washington state and British Columbia. My thought is a GTG east of the Cascade Mountains, like in Chelan, WA. That would be centrally located for those of us in the Pacific Northwest, and it's a place where good weather could be counted on during the usual travel season.

I mentioned this once before also. If a West Coast GTG does happen, we would like to be a part of it. You go Meric. We'll help anyway we can.

Our destination will be for seasonal use and a multiple venue opportunity. Harley, Hot rod festival type stuff. So Barth GTG will only be one week a year. By then we will have a stage for bands, and multiple camping opportunities. Vendors will be welcome.

Sorry Roger I am already making a destination and have a plan. It's been working for 3 years now and is about to expand in the next two years. It's in Rosberg WA very close to nothing.

Cheers

Being on a limited budget I have to pick and choose the GTG's that I attend, so I probably won't be able to attend. Just remember that the first GTG we had in Milford was attended by about 12 Barth's and look at how it has grown.

Plan it, advertise it here and they will come.

There are lots of Barths here in AZ in the winter. If I remember right the Barth Rangers were mostly left coasters. I have been to one of their rallies in Quartzsite a number of years ago. I think they have mostly disbanded because of members ages.

It's a private place right now for members only by invite only. No exact address will be given till we secure the next transition. Our place is only 5 acres right now with plans for at least 5 more but trying to snag 45 more acres. Wish me luck.

Nice area. We did a motorcycle event down there at a private campground. If it doesn't conflict with our schedule Shelli and I would like to take part in it and be vendors also. Thanks Loren

Last year Mike and I set up a GTG in South Dakota. Hoping to get both west and east together. Because of personal reason neither Mike or I made the GTG.

Sure wish I could have made the GTG. Those that went told me they had a great time.

A GTG need not be a huge. Post a location, and date. you might be surprised at what develops.

Thanks, Doorman, that is more what I am thinking. Meric seems to have an ambitious program in mind, and I wish him luck. My thought is more like what you suggest -- just reserve some campsites and see who shows up. Even if it's only a few, we can share war stories and check out each others coaches.

Community-building can occur on any scale.

There are a lot of State park locations here in WA that are very accommodating for large parties. But if I am going to organize it I want to own it.

A destination with the magnitude I am working on is hard work. But I have a good team and a plan. I am taking my nest egg and investing in something that will give me the lifestyle I want. No debt taken to create this dream helps by leaps and bounds. I am putting my money, talent and time to work.

If you can't find a job create a job.

If someone organized a West Coast GTG I would definitely be there.

Cheers

A Barth West Coast GTG would be a great idea! For ourselves, timing and location are seasonally controlled, as mentioned by Gary C. Timing in the winter would likely help our attendance as we are here (AZ, New Mex, Nevada, California) seasonally.

Bud, when are you returning to YXY? I will be coming thru AZ in a week or two. Not sure of the schedule yet as so many things need to come together.

See now that's good thinking.. South West in the winter GTG some time and one in the summer in the great NW. On the coast where the ocean keeps you cool. July or Aug in the NW I think.

Texas, AZ, NM, Nevada, California.. Does not matter to me. Would Texas count as West?

I'm in as soon as my house sells.

Cheers
