And here I thought that all people in Syracuse did in the winter was huddle around the fire to stay warm. I'm a Crucible retiree and some of the 'winter storm' stories coming out of that mill are incredible. Jim

I'm a longtime mustang owner too, my first car was a 1971 Mach 1. I bough it in 1980 with money I made working in tobacco while in high school, still have it. We've had Volvo's for years, a 164, a 240 wagon, several 740/760's, a 960 and by far our biggest dissapointment was the S80. Twin turbo inline 6, it was fun to drive but stayed in the shop as much as it was on the road. I still have my '90 760 turbo with 330k that I drive when I'm not in the pickup. Sherrie is on her second V8 Lexus LS and she's been very happy with them. I had a blue 71 Mustang Mach 1, at the same time I also had a 70 Mach 1 Hugger Orange, Cleavland, 4 spd, slats. Gotta say the 70 stands out as one of my favorites over a many car history. I think it is a toss up between the 70 Mach and a 69 Z-28 with the 302 in yellow. That car lifted the front end off the ground with stock tires when banging second!! The only mod was a 4:11 rear. Here is a pic of my current hot rod. Gotta say the early cars wouldn't have a chance against this one, but considering 40 years have past, it is apparent that most of the technology for performance happened between 1960 and 1970. I'm glad to have been a witness to the early days of performance and muscle cars. 2003 BMW M3 with SMG transmission in special order Phoenix Yellow Formerly: 1997 Barth Monarch Now: 2000 BlueBird Wanderlodge 43' LXi Millennium Edition DD Series 60 500HP 3 stage Jake, Overbuilt bike lift with R1200GS BMW, followed by 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” | |||
