Guys were out to check windshields. They said things were a go. They are going to try and replace the center strip also.Supposed to be done before the GTG. Side window also! Damn we will be weather tight.

Smoker is getting pulled out. Butts will be injected, slathered with spice rubs.

Bar is stocked as normal even though it seems I hardly drink.(Bring me a bottle of Blackberry Crown if you can find it.)

Pot is legal in Minnesnowta currently. No more than 2 pounds. Personally can’t have more than 8 plants but only 4 mature at any one time?

Minnesnowta land of 10,000 regulations for any and all items. I think that may include diapers, safety pins and enriched flour.

We are two weeks away from the GTG and I was excited about going on our first long trip in our Barth; and it does not look like we are going to make it. I have had some obligations at work and home that are consuming most of my time and I cannot be gone a week or so. Yall have fun and maybe I will attempt another in the future. I am going to cancel my spot at the campground today.

Weather was right. Semi between projects or at least not in the middle of uninterruptible.

We won’t starve at the GTG. 10 hrs or so and they’ll be ready to pull!

Low and slow 10 hrs and only 160 degrees so a while before they’ll be ready to pull! That’s why I do ahead. Time is the wildcard. Pulled the last butt out of the smoker at 11:50! Let rest for an hour then pull and fridgerate. Finished completely except freezing

The last butt I had a friend smoked it for me and when I got it it had been wrapped and refrigerated so pulling is almost impossible. I wrapped it in foil and put it into the oven at 400 for 2 hours and it fell apart like it just came off the smoker. Just a little tip for future reference.

Thanks Danny!

I’m just a glutton for self punishment. Perfect storm of delays pre smoke. If I’d have gotten on at 5am when I got up things would have been fine. I like what I call rare pulled not a mushy pull. 195 degrees max. Less and it doesn’t separate. Over 205 it totally separates in a fine pull. Seeing we reheat in the crockpot I like it chunky.

It looks perfect. I will need a nap today. Supposed to storm. Nothing I like better to put me to sleep.

Checking in: I had my lower back surgery on April 29, while I am told the procedure went well and I should expect a positive outcome, there were complications. As of this day, I am still in a bit of pain while trying to get my strength back. Helen still drives me everywhere when we do leave the house but trying to take it easy.

Nonetheless, we will head north and plan to make the GTG, The Barth is ready to roll! Looking forward to seeing you all !

Well, turd fairy strikes again. head bang

Went to go fuel up the coach. Has not been run since return from Florida (with mechanical delay in Tennessee.) Fired right up. Got the suspension aired up fine. Shut it down and crawled under to grease u joints as I always do before a long trip.

One ujoint took grease with less resistance than usual. It is slinging grease more than it did before and seems more loose than the other. I think the vibration from the ride height issue in Tennessee did some damage. When I left Tennessee I greased them and they seemed fine. I should have checked it sooner but the ride home from Tennessee was no problems and it has been so cold/wet I didn't feel like crawling under. I don't trust it for the 1500 mile round trip to the GTG. I don't need any more nights on the roadside.

Sadly, I will not make the GTG. Too late for site refund so there will be site 12 available. Now to figure out how to get the water heater to Duane. hmm

Have Barth, parked for now... Mechanic

Hi everyone. Sorry I have not been on here for a while, too many things going on.

Dana, I mentioned to you that we can't make it because of another trip we are going on. But I was going to run down for a day with the car before we left to see everyone. Well, I can't make that either as I just discovered I had my dates wrong and we will be leaving on the 5th and getting ready on the 4th. I will miss seeing everyone and was looking forward to seeing Steve (and you Dana) to see what you have done with your coaches the last year.

So have fun and hi to everyone for me. Hope to see you next time.
