Thumbs Up
Time for spring cleaning and get packing.
Oil and filter change, belts and hoses, new air dryer cartridge. Aaah, I got spring fever, first warm day and the birds singing.
Looking forward to see y'all.

As some of you know, Rusty turned us on to his Margarita method and we've gotten attached to it.
It's a shot of Tequila, shot of Triple Sec and the juice of a lime and it's super good.
Rusty and I were talking on the chat a while back about making triple sec and I've been working on a batch. Here's what I did.
Grated the zest of a few fresh juice oranges I picked up while we were in Florida a few weeks ago.

Soaked the zest in Everclear for a week or so.

You have to cut the Everclear with a simple sugar syrup, I simmered mine with slices of a couple of oranges.

Here's the finished product, it's not clear like store bought but it is very good.
If I were to filter it more I think I could get it clear, but I'm content with it as it is.
It just means margaritas are a little more orange than greenish.

We'll share some at the GTG.
Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Ooh, margaritas sound really good. Thumbs Up

80's today here in the Keys! Yesterday Tom and I went fishing for yellowtails and brought a few home. Later I rode my motorcycle about 50 miles just croozin' around in the sun. Today the Blue Angels did their show over Key West.

2 Barths stand ready for TN, looking forward to wine, cheese and snacks with other Barthmobilers. cheers

Thumbs Up alright we got the menu planned, let's get ready!

I need help finding the ChooChoo on my musical horns. Should I try all 99 songs before or after the margaritas?

It is getting close to GTG time. We have been busy washing up sheets, blankets, dishes etc, that have been sitting unused since last year. Still have to fill propane tank and take inventory to see if anything needs to be replaced.

Our entourage will consist of seven, myself, my son and his girlfriend, my daughter and her boyfriend and his two daughters. This is our first campout of the year and everyone is excited. My son and I have been to Raccoon Mountain before. We were there September of 2008.

I was hoping that the shelter at the campground would be finished but the weather has not allowed that to be accomplished. Hope the weather smiles on us and allows lots of sunshine.

There is a go-cart track at the campground and we really kept those things humming. At that time they had a "all day" price that we took advantage of.

Won't be long before I get to see "old" friends and make some new ones.

See ya there. Big Grin Tooling Along

Reminder:

The Cagles, the Johns, and I plan to meet on I-75 at the GA welcome station (just over the FL line) early afternoon Tues 4/2, RON Southern Gates RV Park in Arabi (Exit 92).

Hopefully others can join us!

BTW, I stocked up on Florida wines, including 2 from San Sebastian (decent local from St. Augustine), and 2 novelty wines, a "dry" blueberry and a Key lime...

Well, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, my work load just won't allow us to make it. Nick is taking my site next to Tom. We'll miss you guys but post lots of pix and make some plans for Hillsborough.
