2nd Annual Gift Exchange at the 4th Annual Florida GTG Last year we had a gift exchange at the GTG and after consulting with our host, Danny and Suzy, we would like to do it again. The gift exchange will be Saturday night after dinner. This is not just any gift exchange but one with a few rules.
This is a great way to regift that white elephant from your favorite relative. Also one additional note to all that attended last. That bottle of rare scotch has set in the cabinet and gotten another year older. Don't you think you need to get rid of it before it goes bad? Nick

I am already getting ready for Hillsbourough. This picture is of GTGW (get togather wood). My boy Oakley is also in the picture. He will be to the GTG along with my other chocolate Lab, Bear. Danny has promised perfect weather this year so this may be enough wood for the fires. W4JDZ

In case it's sneaking up on you, the GTG is only 3 weeks away! Still could use some entrys for the Saturnight Feast. Each site has a campfire circle plus we have site 37 for campfire central. If you're buying your firewood there is a guy just south of the Park on 301 or you can get it at the Ranger Station, but it's a lot more $$. Any questions are welcome. 79 Barth Classic

Oysters, jalapeno poppers and Deb's special flan. If anyone wants stone crab we have a great source here in St. Marks. Pricey but good. Somewhere between $11. to $13. per lb. for large. The more we get the better the price. ED.

William, and everybody else, it has been brought to my attention that not everyone has been to a Hillsborough GTG and may not be aware of how we do it. So here's a recap of how it has gone down in the past. Friday night is arrival night, and usually is when everyone shows off their coach, gets to know one another, and maybe cooks up some pass-around food if they are so inclined. We'll sit around the fire, and make the rounds of Barthers, depending on the weather, and how everything is going. Nothing is planned at this point, so just do what you want and enjoy yourself. Saturday is all up to you as to what you want to do. There is hiking, biking, canoeing, or the most common pastime, talking Barth. Saturday night dinner is at the pavillion centerally located in our camping area. What you bring is up to you, and don't feel bad about being limited by your personal cooking facilities. If you need grill space, oven space, or anything else, now is the time to ask and get it set up. Power is available in the pavillion, but not grill space. What we have done in the past is set up a row of tables for food, everyone brings their own dishware, and after giving thanks we line up and share our food. If you don't have cooking facilities, a tub of store bought tater salad or slaw is perfectly OK. Just keep an eye on what folks are bringing and use your own judgement. If you have something special that you like to make, don't worry about making enough for everyone, just make what you can and grab some for yourself while the grabbing is good. Sunday morning Suzie whips up biskits and sausage gravy for everybody, and we wash them down with Mimosas. If you're staying for Sunday night, you're pretty much on your own, but you won't be alone. If anyone has a washer-toss or cornhole game, we might get up a little friendly competition. Another thing that may interest you is the tram trip to the old fort. I believe it's at 1:00 daily.Hope this clears things up a little and doesn't scare anyone off, because the most important thing is you being there. 79 Barth Classic
