Hi Tom- I just joined this forum after talking with a former Barth owner who had his motorhome advertised and already sold it. I'm located in NE OH and would like to see your unit when you're passing through. I pm'd my contact info to you. I was curious, what are the downsides to living in Thailand? I've considered retiring there. -Jim

Every place has downsides, hot weather and traffic in large cities. Asian culture is more favorable to older people and I feel 20 years younger there. Applies to men and women. Health care much better, cheaper and way faster. Not a good place to make money, not expensive to live. Language is difficult, I can speak but read very little. 25 hour flights to the states Lively.... Can be fast paced. Odd smells at times Tom Loughney Barthless....

Hello, my name is Steve and I am a Barth junkie. On Friday I will join the Mary Ray club. Tom has agreed to visit me on Friday and leave his coach behind! When I saw it here for sale I couldn't stand it… After 5 years with 86 Barth it still needs paint work. I just got a hangar where I can work on the wheel wells and get it painted. Meanwhile, what can I drive? I would like to take some long trips out west, pulling the toad... With 43,000 miles on 86 Barth in the last 5 years and several months in Florida each winter it would be great to have something a bit larger... Diesel engine, air brakes and suspension would be good… Something newer that won't need paint or chassis work for a while… So, what could be better than another bigger, newer Barth? As you can see, I had no choice. Besides, who else is going to post threads for the diesel crowd? So many new topics possible: Cummins 8.3, Allison 6 spd, Spartan chassis, air brakes, suspension? So much to learn! My name is Steve, I am a Barth junkie. Help me... 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

CONGRATULATIONS So proud to have another new member to the Mary Ray Society. I can't think of anyone that deserves it more than you Steve. I think you could also qualify for 1/2 of my Barth because if it wasn't for you there would be no Command Center. I don't know about this, Kevin. From the looks of that front logo your HTRAB is dyslexic, maybe not the best for stud… Besides, who's paying the child support? Mary Ray you may be right about the 85, after busting my knuckles on that engine and crankshaft my DNA is surely in your coach! 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Steve: I know your going to enjoy your new coach as much as we do ours. You will notice a big difference in pushing instead of pulling. It will be great to see them parked side by side this winter. My neighbors will think they've had one to many beverages. Enjoy Ed & Deb

Well, it's official now. We're in the Mary Ray Society. Tom sold us his coach, left it here and was on his way! I can't imagine a much easier sale. Tom drove the coach to our door. A pleasure to meet him, a great guy with a great coach. We are very happy with this so far. Since he is headed back to Thailand he left EVERYTHING in the coach: pots, pans, dishes, linens, motor scooter on the back, etc! A true drive-away coach! I will need a few days to poke around and learn the systems. It's like Christmas and opening presents! In the interest of full disclosure, when I saw this coach come up for sale I knew it was one of the largest, newest, best coaches Barth made. Tom's price range of 17k to 30k seemed very realistic. Decided I'd be a fool to let it go. I offered the full 30k to avoid a bidding war. He was kind to leave everything for me. Went above and beyond to replace the 4 coach batteries, even left me a full tank of diesel. (150 gallons!) I couldn't see him leaving me all of that for nothing so I gave him a few hundred more. Can't wait for a road test trip, maybe next week. Have Barth(s), will travel 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp
