THE COACH HAS BEEN SOLD, to "Tom and Loraine". Happy travels to them! My 30' 1992 Breakaway is (reluctantly) for sale. I've had it for 2 years, and bought it from its 3rd (maybe 4th) owner Bryan Nickell in SW Ohio. What Bryan said about it still applies: 54,000 Miles (now just under 56,000) 160 HP Cummins Diesel w/Turbo boost equivalent to 190 HP Allison Transmission 542 Spartan Chassis Brakes have all NEW brake lines, pads, rotors, and calipers NEW Struts on the front Atwood Gas/electric Water Heater 4 New Interstate batteries Kohler LP 7kW Generator 2 Air Conditioners 2 Panasonic TV/s with antenna booster White Oak Cabinets and table Micro/Convection combo Bedroom - Queen bed with memory foam topper, cedar closets, cassette/radio built into night stand NEW 2500 watt Xantec Inverter/converter 4 Awnings Remote mirrors with heat 2 defrost fans Fog lights Hydraulic leveling jacks A/C Heat Auxillary start CB radio Aisle lights, cab lights, compartment lights Electric drivers seat 2 Flexsteel leather captains chairs Back to me: I've had fluid service on the engine - oil and filter and radiator flush with fresh 50/50 antifreeze, the Allison A/T, and Kohler propane generator. I've replaced the wiper arms and blades, added a color backup camera and monitor, and repaired the non-working power mirrors. Stored inside almost its whole life. Now for the bad: cruise control doesn't work (planning for Southwest R.V., Fairfield OH to replace), the 3-way refrigerator doesn't work (Southwest R.V. again, probably with a 2-way), and the engine A/C doesn't work (I'm not planning to repair). In other words, when Southwest finishes, it will be ready! The price is $21,500 with the two repairs, or $19,000 without. Anyone looking for a fine Breakaway this is your chance. I looked at this coach when Brian had it for sale. It is a nice coach.I know it had new shocks installed just before Brian sold it. 1986 31' Regal -1976 Class C 454/T400 P30 -350/T400 G30 twin cntr beds - 21' rear bath

REPAIRING the refer and cruise sure ought to be a lot less than $2500. Shower is by itself on curb side, right?
|
Yes, the shower is by itself on the curb side. I've had one estimate (in Columbus) for replacing the refrigerator, at $1700. I just winged on on replacing the cruise control. Southwest RV has done a good job for me, and they just might find some more work that she needs.

Do you know if the rear main seal and/or the exhaust manifold has ever been replaced?
| ||||||||||||
|
I don't know about the rear main oil seal or the exhaust manifold. Bryan told me about the work he had done on the coach, but didn't have any paperwork. Southwest RV confirmed some of the work.

at least that to REPLACE completely. Sometimes the cooling unit can be replaced for much less, which would be more of a REPAIR cost. likewise, maybe the cruise is repairable.

My new 3-2ay refrigerator cost more than $1800 two years ago; I don't remember the brand off-hand, but could not find one the exact dimensions so the cabinet had to be compensated. I thought for a while that my cruise control worked now and then but not this past year; so I'd be interested in knowing what the cost is for repairing yours. Braley

For what it's worth, I just added an image of the blueprint that came with my coach. I also have the Barth binder with all the details...

Looking at the pictures of your Barth the only question I have, what is on the side opposite the couch? Is there another chair with a fold down table? That is the only section missing in the photos. Thanks

I replaced our refer cooling unit for about $400 I replaced the cruise control with an Audiovox vacuum unit for under $200. My vacuum generator both work great. '92 Barth Breakaway - 30' 5.9 Cummins (6B) 300+ HP 2000 Allison Front entrance
