This coach would be an excellent choice. Dana takes care of his "stuff". Mary Don't mess with us old folks, we don't get old by being stupid! 1968 Barth trailer, 1975 Barth Motorhome and 1985 Barth Motorhome

Hard to believe and disappointing that this great coach has not sold yet. It is a reality check on what buyers consider market value of older coaches. I also blame banks for not making loans on older coaches. Evidently buyers don't have 20k cash to drive one away. Rather get a down payment and loan on a newer coach with lots of problems and a revolving door dealer warranty. Too bad. Hang in there Dana your coach is worth every penny. 9708-M0037-37MM-01 "98" Monarch 37 Spartan MM, 6 spd Allison Cummins 8.3 325+ hp

Have you noticed I have not said much about DBarth. When people started looking the generator started acting up. Then Lynn had issues. Then Winter. I couldn't lie and was upfront with those looking. Determined the problem this spring. Stator was gone. No replacements available. Quiet Cummins/Onan 5500 lp generator has now been installed. What an added value. Newer generator/quiet and serviceable. Much more dependable. Added value big time. Still I need it to move to new owner. Having 3 coaches is like having a wife and 2 mistresses. I don't have the stamina for that anymore. At least Camp Barth is 400 miles away. I will not be adding the price of the generator to the price of the Coach here. I will be putting on Craigslist soon. I'll probably be accused of being an old 'fuddy duddy', but, here goes. We are a dying breed. By "We", I mean people who appreciate things that are built well and designed to last for a long time. The newer generation has been raised in a 'throw away' world, so they buy stuff (usually with a lot of lipstick and mascara), use it for a couple of years, and throw it away. The country has RV salvage yards with thousands of motor homes which are just rotting away. And it's not about the price. It's about the monthly payment. Half of all Americans have just a little over $11000 in savings, including retirement savings. As Steve has said, who will loan money on a 30 year old motor home? So, Dana will sell his motor home for a lot less than it's worth. Hopefully it will be to someone who appreciates the build quality of a Barth. It's like my 1978 Mercedes 450SL I'm trying to sell. It's priced far below appraised value. Most of the people who have called are 'flippers'. Some just want a convertible and have no idea of the quality of the car. In almost a year, I've had two calls from people who know what it is. So, I have decided I will sell it only to someone who appreciates the marque. If no one comes along like that, I'll leave it to my son-in-law who knows what it is a respects that. And he'll keep it for another 30 years. If I had a Barth (yes, we're still looking) I'd do the same thing. I see us as caretakers of these beautiful examples of machines, not as owners. Jim

I was offered NADA valuation or had that used a negotiating point that raised my blood pressure every time I heard those 4 Letters. NADA valuation of stick and staple may be that for the years of service. A well cared for Barth is worth more. That is not based on sentiment or emotion. If I had based my price on that it would have been double what I asked because of the good times and enjoyment she provided. New Owner 1st thing was under with a flashlight. I knew we were going to be making the sale. They got a coach that should make them happy for a long long time. They are local enough to make is easy if the have questions. Up to them if they want to join the group. I hope they do. SOLD asking price and on the road!!!
